Russia, Because they have been flexing there muscles lately and they are getting increasingly antagonistic towards other nations. One of your other choices will most likely be an Allie of Russia.

Iran. First because much like Iraq, there is alot of oil there. In fact it's the world's second or third largest petroleum exporter with something in the area of 4-5 million barrels a day. Second, considering the first, Pres. Bush is an oil man, so why not go straight to the source of the business. Third, with North Korea, there's no way we'd have a single win in that war because of the North's determination plus with Chinese and Russian interference would result in the same results from the first war over there in the 50's. Fourth, Russia has a military not too far behind ours. They have alot of nuclear, chemical, and biological missiles still pointed over here. Plus they have a close link to N. Korea and China, who also has missiles pointed over here. Fifth, Venezuala is socially and economically unstable country, so it'll just turn into another Iraq. And finally sixth, China has an enorumous military (3+ million people) so the U.S. military will have a really tough time fight a war of attrition in this situation.

Iran.

Russia and China are still - like the US - checked by MAD.

North Korea still has a mutual defense pact with China, so war with the DPRK is out of the question.

Venezuela? I think the US can afford to wait a while longer for the people to toss Chavez out.

That leaves Iran. It's already participating in the conflict in Iraq, it has US forces on two of it's borders, it's agressively persuing nuclear arms, and has committed acts of war against the US in the past. It's still not at all likely - every time Iran has provoked the US in the past, the US has declined to respond with military force of any kind. That pattern is unlikely to change.

You never know where a terrorist might be hiding. There has to be some in Mexico and Canada. Rather than making a list up, to be careful, perhaps we should immediately NUKE all the other countries in the world, plus execute all of the liberals and anti-war people here too. That way we wouldn't have to be so scared anymore. Plus we can't have other countries acting up, can we? Other countries need to learn that they should do exactly what we tell them to do. After all, we ARE the greatest country in the world.

I wouldn't call them menacing because in their eyes, we're probably menacing. Why would you even bring of the subject of the next war? This war is bad enough and i honestly don't think that proclaiming a war that's in the "near future" is the right state of mine. People can be such war pigs
