Heh, the old C.S. Lewis "Lord, Liar, Lunatic" argument applied to a different religious figure. I like it.

To those whose minds are Evil, they will see others as Evil, for how else can one recognise evil unless they are somewhat evil themselves? How does one know what Oranges taste like unless they have tasted oranges before?
Buddha said how we view others is really a mirror image of what we are within. Like we know we are Kind Hearted when our Thoughts and Speech is Kindly in an automated sense...( second nature )
Buddha said also, to not believe his teachings by faith alone, he challenged future seekers of truth, to test, experience and analyse his teachings or any teachings, if they find it to touch the heart and mind, then only should they embrace it. If they find it to be wrong, put it aside or discard it.
Buddha has Never insisted to anyone that they MUST accept his teachings or else... ( add a threat or blackmail clause here ).... He REALLY gave people free will to choose...

He made no claims to divinity, he merely said "I have observed life and I find the following to be true across all those observations". It's really not that much different from people who used to say that objects fall because "to be on the ground was their natural position". It's what passed for science in its day - and it really is no different today. He's the real deal.

Religion without God is even better than french fries without plutonium. But Buddhism is actually something between a religion and a philosophy.
Christianity, Islam, communism and most other ideologies created untold massacres and unspeakable suffering.
You will not find much in this chapter about Buddhism. No matter what it is about it obviously works much better than all other attempts to tame our addiction to violence.

Buddhism is the teaching to become a better person and help the others, but it doesn't tells to glorify God. Their god is themselves. The higgest level in buddhism to is become god themselves. Helping others is to help the flesh only which will corrupt one day. What is important is the souls which will last forever. So this is what the christian are doing. To save the spirits, not the flesh. Hope this helps.

the Buddha never claimed to be anything divine,as the others have stated.....also,as a "follower"i.e. a buddhsit,i have to say that we haven't made the mistake of making the concept of the Buddha "insane " either.we regard him as a very great teacher.nothing more :) peace

He also denied being divine. So yes, I think that it's the followers over the centuries that have made it insane.

He knew the laws of cause and effect, both physical and spiritual! I'd say He was a practical realist!
