Working out centers me. I've done my routine so much it's become instinct, so I have a lot of time to think about other things. :)

Physical and spiritual exercise :P

I took a meditation class, and the exercise we learned for centering was pretty simply. Envision yourself in a room which you can decorate as you see fit. This room is inside your head, and your eyes are the windows.

Once you can see that clearly, you are centered.

This is followed by grounding - envisioning a cord from your root chakra going deep into the center of the earth, connecting you to it.

After that, you feel your aura and give it a little shake. I called it "fluffing" it out, but my teacher who was familiar with that term objected, lol.

Then you envision your aura's grounding cord running alongside your other grounding cord.

After that, you put up the protective roses (sounds whacked, I know), and then you're good to go.

I'm a little rusty, but that's pretty much it.

We're supposed to do it every day, but I admit I'm a slacker. I did use it prior to working out with the punching bag - it gave me great focus. If I bothered to do it on a regular basis, I would find it calming and centering (oddly enough), which could be quite helpful when going into stressful situations.

I use to think I had to have a physical focus. You know like a candle flame or an object. Now I find that I can center myself when I'm pulling weeds. My mind basically just goes blank and I find a connection that is pure.

I found the latter by mistake. Also if I watch my koi in the pond it has the same affect. It becomes easier once you realize that it isn't as hard as you thought.

I pray. It really helps me focus on something other than what is happening to or around me at the moment. I used to walk a lot too, but being on crutches for the next 2-3 months will make walking impossible.

Repeat again and again, "I am sooo lovable today" it always improves my outlook and other people respond to me more positively too
If we don't allow ourselves to be lovable there is little hope for anyone.
