Do a lot of jobs not want to hire only for the summer?

I went to an interview this morning and she said I would be great except for the fact that I would only be available to work during the summer...I thought a lot of places hired for summer..

gosh i thought so too but again that is only one persons opinion she is not the world try other places like movie theaters and hotels and restaraunts . good luck .
