"It's a test!"
"You gotta have faith!"
Nonsense. Do these folks really believe that if Jesus appeared today, right now, with a spectacular light show and worldwide television coverage, there wouldn't be at least a few people who would change their minds about him?
I've been waiting for someone to present evidence of the truth of their religious claims. Such an appearance would go a long way. Sorry folks, but the written words of a semi-mystical tribe of Bronze Age desert nomads just isn't good enough. Especially when the real world evidence shows that many of their mythical claims never happened.

The Lord has revealed himself to us through creation and through His word most of all- He has written His word on our hearts ( those who love Him and are saved) He is the one who draws us! Not the other way around. We do not find God, he finds us! He chooses us!
If you had a child, who always did wrong- would you just not bother with discipline? Would you just say "It's ok, I will let you get away with it"
NO! Just as God does with us! We have all sinned against Him as Romans 3:23 says- and the punishment for sin is hell. There are consequences for sin, just as there are consequences for sin when kids do wrong...God is our Heavenly Father and loves us too much to see us die in our sins! That is why He made a way for us, to be saved through Jesus Christ! "God demonstrated his own love towards us in that while we were sinners Christ died for us" Romans 5:8
When you believe with all your heart, and confess that He did die and rose again, you will be saved- repent of sin and follow Him! He gives you a new heart, new desires and opens your eyes even more to His wonderful truth. (See Romans 10)
There is nothing more important than your eternal salvation in Jesus Christ, and the time is now! After this life it will be too late.
God reveals Himself to those who are seeking Him- and when they are seeking Him it is His Holy Spirit who are drawing them!
Deuteronomy 4:29
But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Because seeing doesn't necessarily translate into believing. Some of Jesus' greatest critics actually saw his miracles in the gospels and yet they still refused to become his followers. Instead they accused him of doing the work of Satan. Consider what Jesus said to a religious man in John 3. "This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light, because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed" (John 3:19-20).
Let me ask you a couple of questions. 1.) Are you willing to change in a very significant way? If not, then the issue here is not intellectual/philosophical or merely a lack of evidence. 2.) What could God do now that he hasn't already done to give you enough reason to believe? You mentioned about the people in Dafur. Well if if Jesus feed 5,000 men besides women and children with five loaves of bread and two fish why is that not suficient enough reason to believe him now? And really folks, if God can only do the things that I give him permission to who is really God in this situtation? You guys need to check your overwhelming since of entitlement in your critique of all things Christianity. What makes Christianity "hard" to believe is that we would rather live our lives (regardless of who you are) according to our own standare of truth, righteousness, and knowledge. According to Jesus the issue to believe isn't an intellectual one it's our overwhelming since of one-upmanship to God and our sinful pride that wants to shake our fist at a God who supposedly isn't there. Does it make sense to be mad at a God who doesn't exist? How can God actually be blamed for the suffering that is in the world unless He actually exists? Resources I will recommend for further study are "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel and "The Case for Faith" also by Lee Strobel. I hope you sort this out before die my friend.

Those who really want to find Jesus will do so. Maybe the problem isn't with him, but those who say they can't find him.
"And most importantly, why doesnt he come down and help the people in Darfur for example?"
If everyone simply stopped sinning and obeyed God, there wouldn't be any problem in Darfur. Why should people who turn their backs on God suddenly expect to find His help when they've turned their backs on the only thing that could help them?

Testing is mostly used in everything, for example: to become an engineer you have to pass certain test to become a full pledge engineer, a lawyer must pass a bar examination, a CPA must pass a cpa examination etc. These are done by humans.
But the testing of saints or believer (christian) is not done by Jesus nor God! It is done by the devil (our accuser) to proved to God that we are not really christ follower.
More than 2000 years ago, Jesus walk on the earth and teach, heals, and giving sounds doctrine to all men. He commisioned 12 men to preach this good news of salvation (the doctrine of reconciliation.)
He promise to come again, just like General Douglas McArthur famous remark 'I SHALL RETURN.' Jesus too will come again, this time not as a saviour but a judge.
Are we ready to face him when he return? This is biggest question for all mankind to ponder with. Before he left for heaven his scribes and apostle and prophets wrote a letter for all mankind to read and understand. This is called "THE BIBLE" meaning a 'BASIC INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE LEAVING EARTH'

Here is something to ponder: Why would a deity who wants nothing more than a "personal relationship" with all humans HIDE himself?? This makes no sense....I dont hide from my fiance or friends, BECAUSE I want close personal relations with them. So, the Problem of Hideness is one that no Christian can respond to intelligently... If you are truly all loving and want nothing more than a personal relationship, then you wouldnt hide yourself from the very people you want to have the relationship with.

If the people over the entire world would be willing to give away all that they owned to help other people (in Darfor or wherever), they would be doing exactly what Jesus told his followers to do. Jesus said "It will be easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of Heaven". He came into the world so that people might come to the knowledge of the truth, to believe in God and to find salvation from sins by repentance (stop sinning and obey the commandments of God). In the book of Genesis, God made man and placed man into a perfect setting (the Garden of Eden),where he could have everything he needed and where man could live forever as long as man obeyed the word of God. However, because man has never obeyed the word of God consistently, man was removed from this perfect environment and the ground was cursed for Adam's sin. After the first sin of disobediance to God, by Adam and Eve, death came into the world and all mankind (the offspring of Adam and Eve) had to work and to endure pain and death.
If one does not teach his or her children to work for their living after man's disobediance, that parent is NOT showing love to their children. A child must be taught to support himself in this world or that child will probably not survive after the parents or caregivers die or leave. However, God is still alive for all of eternity to care for His children and He promised that He would never leave us nor forsake us, in spite of our past sins. He offered mankind a way to be redeemed from the sins passed on to us through Adam. That is why Jesus Christ was born, died for our sins and rose from the dead. He does not have to prove anything to mankind because Satan, the enemy of God already has most of us in his captivity and anyone who rejects Jesus is already bound for the Lake of Fire prepared for the devil and his angels. There is no "hide and seek" because God, who is spirit and not flesh can see everyone and has given each one of us a choice - accept Jesus and live or reject Jesus and die twice.
"It is appointed unto man to die but once, but after this, the Judgement." (Judgement is the second death only for nonbelievers).

Jesus isn't hiding and he is not playing a game. If you don't believe, then fine, but don't make fun.
John 14:1-3
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Lucky for you that Jesus didn't come yet or you would be in Hell ,And one must remember that this is not the world we live for but the one that is coming . Once you get to know Jesus you won't be running from Him anymore . You see it is not Jesus that is hiding but !! it is you . So stop think before
you speak , return to God and He will make you wise .
Then you will not ask but will know the answers to most all
your questions . Amen....

Well, nowhere does it say He is "all-loving."
And yes, He *did* make Himself known and visible, yet people still denied He was who He said He was.
Why doesn't He come down and help the people in Darfur? This falls under the general category of, "why is there suffering/disease/etc.?"
We live in a fallen world. There is going to be sickness, disease, poverty, etc. This is not God's fault; this is our own fault. It started at the Garden of Eden when the first two people broke God's commandment, and it continues today as we, in our sinful nature, still rebel against God and refuse to obey His laws.
