We were informed in Feb. of 2006 that my husband would be deploying to Iraq in Sept. of 2006. March -June they started training and preparing for their tour. June -Aug my husband went to BNCOC phase 1 and phase 2, Sept they deployed. He had 27 use or lose days that needed to be used by Sept. well he lost them. I found out today (the S1 called me) and told me the Army is buying his 27 days off of him. How much will they pay him? I would have rather had the extra 27 days leave....

My husband has been in the army 14 years so far and we never sold leave days...we take leave every chance we get lol. I do know however that now he is deployed that his use or lose days that he has accumulated cant be lost.

The way they pay for leave is this formula;

Base pay divided by 30 and multiplied by 27.

You can sell back up to 60 days in your career.

He will get whatever his base pay is for that amount of time on duty.

God bless you both, and I wish him a safe journey there AND BACK!
