Hi just got to grip with this thing my sony was nicked about two years ago it played the 8 mm cassette i have loads of tapes that I would like to see whats on, will buy a cheep camara, or do you know if I can put them on dvd, or cassette that will play in vcr. I live in the north east. thanks for any help

you do have to be careful because not all sony video 8 camcorders will play back tapes, some were record only. you might check ebay for the video 8 VCR type players for home use. A Hi8 model will also play back the video 8 tapes and might be more available used.

Wal Mart charges $20 per cassestte to transfer to DVD or VHS

Cheapest new camera out there is Sony TRV 138 at $220.

I just read that you can't get VHS cassette adapters.

Your best bet will be eBay for a 2nd hand 8mm camcorder.

Search for "8mm camcorder"

you are able to truly purchase adapters which you will placed it in to play on your video. Then all you prefer is a video dvd participant to rework the important video to dvd's. wish this permits....
