Any sort of guest worker program must necessarily force the enrolees and thier employers to adhere to the national minimum wage, so I don't see how anyone would be motivated to enroll. Which gardener is going to get hired at $5.25/hr when everyone else is making $3.00? The only way for immigration to be both legal and viable economically is to lower the minimum wage. BTW this would also lower unemployment, though it would obviously be a problem for quite a few McDonald's and Target employees.

I wish to know how the Federal government is going to enforce the suggested complex and detailed immigration laws when they cannot enforce the simple ones we have now?
The only change with the new laws would be some illegal aliens with enough money will become immigrants. I do not see the government arresting and deporting more with different laws.
As for compassion, I do have that for several criminals. For the poor teenagers who could not find a decent paying job, so they turned to shady jobs to pay for bread for their kids. I see many elderly also struggling to not be turned out on the streets. These Americans I pray for each day, and hope they find the help they need. Too many cannot get it because many charities do not care if you are American or not.

Why should Americans have compassion for CRIMINALS???!!!
Do illegals provide compasion for Americans when they take away American jobs?????? Nope!
Yes it is greed from the business owners who hire illegals. But they are not the only ones at fault! Illegal workers are too. Both should be prosecuted!!!
If Illegals want to be a part of the US work force, then they need to go through the propper channels, become US Citizens and learn to speak English like the MILLIONS of other immigrants who came to the US "to get a better life"!!!

The Catholic church is only thinking of their money, Mexicans are Catholic and bread like rabbits and send a lot of money to the church that is their reasoning. And Mexicans always vote Democrat, no matter who is running they vote Democrat, if you want to get rid of the two party system, then their will no longer be a Republican party. I am also a conservative, Bush is selling out this country for his corporations. If he was a compassionate man he would have mercy on our own people and do as they ask, but he is ignoring the will of the people for corporate greed. The illegals that are coming here do not want to be Americans citizens they just want jobs to send money home and they are sending billions out of our own economy to Mexico. Where is the compassion for our own people that have lost their jobs because the illegals will work cheaper, how about compassion for the ones that have done it legally and are still waiting in their home countries, they should be first not illegal aliens who break our laws. Plus their culture is horrible they have more teen pregnancy than any other group, and gang members are challenged to get as many girls pregnant as possible you want that here.

We don't lack compassion. I think better questions are "Why do the illegal aliens lack compassion on a country that is not theirs and expect them to take care of them? Why do they expect the US taxpayer to pay for everything and they pay nothing?"
Sorry but the ILLEGALS don't deserve "basic worker rights" because they aren't suppose to be here working. I too am a Conservative Republican but I am strongly AGAINST the Senate bill because it will make the problem worse and it will bankrupt America.
I have much more compassion for the US citizens than the citizens of other countries. I think my compassion is well placed and appropriate!

Perhaps you would like to open up your home and take in about 20 of them.
Being compassionate is great, but enough is enough.Their better life is at our expense, mainly our children's.They are the ones that will face the long term effects of uncontrolled illegal immigration.

I do not promote people who do illegal things, it isn't my way. I will not applaud or cheer people on who do wrong. I have forgiveness in my heart as I am a person of faith, but they need to obey our laws and do the right thing as a lot of people before them did who entered our country. It's good for them to do it the right way, as it makes it fair for other people in other countries who would also like to come here. If all of Mexico comes here it will not allow people from other countries the same opportunity. Because the Hispanic people cheated and broke the law to be able to do it. How does this make it fair for those who live in other countries, who would also like an opportunity to have better too?
I worked in Law enforcement for many years with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, I have lived my life to work in favor of our laws. I did my part over the years to help keep many dangerous offenders off of your streets, I did this to protect others, with very little thought of my own safety. Now you would tell me that all of what I did for other people was for nothing, just let people who break our laws do what ever they want. When you slap my face with that you also slap the faces of the Police/Customs Agents/Border Patrol/DEA/FBI, and all the many other Officers that are out there working hard to keep you safe.
That to me is a slap in the face for having put my life at risk, to keep people safe from those who break our laws. Every day that I put on the uniform, I put my self in harms way. To protect people from the, 911 terrorists and yes we had some of them too/ murders/rapest/robbers/drug cartels/gangs suchs crips/bloods/Hell's angels/etc; and yes even illegals. Just because it was a Federal prison that didn't mean that it didn't end up seeping into our system, state type of inmates.
I would love to say that illegal's are all angels, but that would be such a lie. Yes, there are many that are good people, but they are still law breakers since they are illegals. There are people who have murdered people in Mexico, they have never been punished for their crimes. They were not caught, much less punished for what they did. They are probably now walking around in our country free to do it again. I am not saying that all hispanic illegal's are murders, so please do not read into what I am saying.
I personally like the thought of other people having a better life, I am not against that ever. However there are right way and wrong ways to do things. But, I will not applaud those who break our laws and say that it is right. I didn't look the other way when people did wrong when I worked where I did, and I won't start doing it now.
I feel that either we stand for what is right and just or we stand for those who do evil/wrong. That's not a line I'm willing to cross now or ever, it is how I am and what I feel.
People can thumbs down if they want, as that is their right to do. But, I make no apologies for wanting what is right and fair for all.

? .. it somewhat is a distinction of subculture.. something i think of is astonishing, is while human beings (or english.. it is not so diverse) are in another country.. they ask you something (for sure in english) and once you answer they.. mm.. i don't comprehend in english.. the literal translation cuold be 'turn their nostril' with the aid of fact you do not talk completely.. the humorous element (i don't comprehend in case you're saying so) is that as quickly as they talk in others languages they're .. i don't comprehend.. undesirable! with the aid of fact english has an exceptionally uncomplicated grammar, on the choice of the 'neo-latin' (?) languages.. and that they continuously have a critique for you.. even while of their u . s . they have an identical issue.. whether.. it somewhat is my own adventure ?_? ?What language did you study?

We already have laws that say it's illegal to come here without going through immigration, so why do we need more laws??? We already have a legal way for guest workers to come here, do you not get it? They won't follow the rules!! What difference will it make making more laws they won't follow??? It isn't christian to not follow the laws of the land either, so by you being compassionate to illegals, you are going against your own religion by helping criminals!!! You sound like as big of idiot as bush!!! I feel the Catholic church is run by the devil! Worst religion out there and bush is the worst president in history, he can't even speak intelligently!!!

Its not that we dont care about the illegal immigrants. Its just that we have laws and our government needs to stand by these laws and enforce them. I have no problem with immigrants coming to this country if they do it legally and abide by our country's laws. By not standing up for our laws, we are basically telling everyone to come to America and do what ever you want because no one is going to stop you, even if it is illegal.
Besides that, illegals hurt our economy more than they help it. They come here, use our medical care, collect social security, and aren't require to pay taxes, which help pay for all of these wonderful benefits in our country.

Why do illegals show a lack of compassion to Americans. They come here and totally ignore our laws and show no respect for this country.
