Either for the parents, or for the students when they finally have to pay it off. We are supposed to be investing in the countries future?

Tuition costs are deductible. There are limits, but there are tax advantages available to college students and/or their parents. Some of the interest on student loans is also deductible. Living expenses, like room and board and things like books are not currently deductible.

You students get an easy enough ride at it is, why should the rest of us pay for you to go to uni?
