Churches many times have members homeschooling their kids. I actually have been looking for other kids to homeschool. I homeschool mine and was wondering how to find out if any others would want me to teach them if their parents can't. But that's my best suggestion, a church.

Several sites off links and lists of homeschooling groups by city, state, or county. The following is a good one:
http://homeschooling.gomilpitas.com/regional/Region.htm
You can also check:
http://www.hslda.org/Default.asp?bhcp=1
Of course, if that doesn't work, you can always go to parks, playgrounds, and malls during the school day and look for families with school-age kids. LOL
Libraries are good places to check, too. And they may let you put up sign saying that you are looking to connect with other homeschoolers.

I'd check with HSLDA, the Homsechool Legal Defense Association (www.hslda.org). They have a pretty conprehendisve listing of state organzations that you likely can use to get connected. I would NOT advise contacting the local school board. When you want to know about electricity, you don't call a plumber...why call the public schools if you want to learn about homeschooling? There is a ton of information online and lots of homsechool groups out there. you'll get connected quickly with little more than doing some internet searching, I am sure. Good luck!!

Based on the answers you've received, it looks like we're confused about just what you're looking for. Are you looking for a homeschooler to take on your children along with theirs? Or just looking to connect with other homeschoolers in your area? If you clarify the question, you'll get better answers.

You can search online (general web and in places like Yahoo Groups) for support groups. Just doing a search for homeschool [state or area] will provide you with a lot.

Here in North Carolina, there's the NC Department of Non-Public Education. Your state probably has one too, so contact them for more info. Or if you know of a homeschool support group near you, you could contact them for information. Good luck!

It fairly is determined by your state. In so much areas the father or mother oversees the homeschool however this will imply that they direct the little one to be tutored by means of different humans as facet of a plan they layout.

That is not how home schooling works.
Home schooling is where the parents are solely responsible for the education of their children, and take on the duty of primary academic teacher/guide.
What you are looking for is a full time tutor.
You may if you choose, hire a tutor that is willing to teach your children in your home, and call it home schooling.

My cousin goes to an online home school. Go to www.redoakacademy.com... Its Great! They have online teachers with cameras so they can see the teacher teach. You can participate with other students, and you can make friends with them and talk over the computer. You also work at your own speed.
