Darwin's subjective views are irrelevant. The biological mechanism of natural selection doesn't cease to be regardless of what Darwin did or didn't say on his death bed.

I assume you're referencing the rumor that he accepted Jesus on his deathbed and denied the validity of his theory of evolution?
I don't think there's ANY credible evidence that Darwin recanted on his death bed. But you've asked me to assume he did.
Even if he did, it wouldn't change my belief that the theory of evolution is ungodly and unscientific. The only thing his recanting would tell me is that he repented before God -- nothing more, nothing less.

No. Scientists have done work on their own...more than Darwin ever did. All Darwin did was open minds to his theory and scientists have discovered all the evidence needed to raise this knowledge from a theory to a principle.

It matters not at all to my opinions about evolution. I have no beliefs, for beliefs have no logical support. What does matter is that creationists lie about this and so many other things. They should be more consistent and follow the commandment about not bearing false witness, the Golden Rule and loving their neighbors, but who has seen a consistent Christian? That is an oxymoron. To be religious, one must be "blind to contradiction" as Edgar Pangborn wrote in "Davy".

It does matter. He didn't recant. It's just another example of Christians bending the truth for their purposes.

I dont think he did either
and it's completely irrelevant
there is mountains of evidence in favour of the theory of evolution regardless of what some of the morons on here have been told to think.

yes it does matter!! evelution(sp?) is wrong it's as simple as that!while there is much more to it in the details that is the main point!!! Creationism is what is true!! no, the earth is NOT millions and millions of years old!! see, there will be a day when everyone who ever lived will stand before God and give an account of his or her life!! that's when your personal beliefs will matter!!! if you don't truly believe what the Bible says and are not a Christian then you will spend eternity in hell(and yes it is a real place)!!!

No. The bible is still true and the "Theory" of Evolution is still false. Although every soul that gets saved is a good thing.

No. Because, though he made the hypothesis, many others have used scientific studies to validate the original idea.

I don't believe he did, but its really none of my business. It's between him and God. There is no reason his personal choice would have anything at all to do with my faith.
