Due to short sighted building policies which do not make it obligatory for developers to maintain a percentage of greenery. But that does not mean we as individuals cannot do our bit in our own way. Everyone can easily grow at least 2 plants, if not more, on each balcony and window ledge, as well as maintain a few indoor plants. Even slum dwellers grow potted plants, so why cant we who live in apartment blocks. If your building or society has available open space, encourage residents to grow trees and maintain a garden. Small plants and shrubs can be grown in even the tiniest of spaces. All this will make a difference.

What are you talking about? Where is this happening? I have yet to see a green patch on a landscape replaced by a high rise building. The only place I have ever seen high rise buildings is in cities. Those cities do not consist of green landscapes nor have they had anything green there in generations.
But besides the fact that the picture you are painting is false, what is wrong with high rise buildings? Why do so many people think that only green is good? Do you break down and cry when a beaver builds a dam? How about when a bird builds a nest? Man builds things too. He builds cities, hospitals, theaters, highways, airports bridges, museums, factories, shopping centers, stadiums, houses, office buildings, warehouses, spaceships, cell phones etc. Why do you think man does these things? Because it is natural for him to do so! Nature made us smart. We are fulfilling our destiny. For crying out loud. What do you think nature made us this smart for? To squat naked in a cave fearful that we may leave too big of a footprint?
What is wrong with you people? Do you realize that if you took the entire population of the world, divided them up into families of four and put them in three bedroom houses on 50x75 foot lots they would only occupy an area the size of Texas? There is so much open space in this world it is nearly unfathomable. Where do you get this nonsense?

High rise buildings are replacing the natural beauty of the landscapes to build houses for the growing population. The buildings are high so that they may hold a number of floors. If we want the next generation to see the greenry of landscapes, we need to build these buildings in areas which are not suitable for growing plants.

Because the High Rise Building pays real estate taxes, and the green patches don't. If you were on a city board, and you had a tight budget to begin with, the idea of adding money to your city's tax base sounds very appealing... especially since you could then spend more money on your city's schools. So, you approve the building permit. City councils tend to be made up of people that are in the construction and real estate industries.
There are some great alternatives though. In some cities, like Chicago, you have to dedicate a certain percentage of a new development to green spaces. Rooftop gardens are emerging, including on City Hall. In some areas, Forest Preserve districts have been buying vacant land to preserve it, but they need tax referenda to pass in order to have money to do so.
If you are really passionate about saving and creating green spaces, then get in contact with your local government to encourage green zoning laws, and increased spending on forest preservation. If you can get referenda on the ballot, then you need to go out and campaign for these changes to pass. Oh... and if no one will listen to you, why don't you run for city council yourself?

Green is becoming green only from leaves to currency notes.
Trees do not give us anything which can make us materialisticly prosporous and here high rise buildligs give us money for the bulider, for labour making them, for government by way of taxes and so on.
So in this material world we care about money and that is what the green landscape is going the money way.

What shud i say???
It is people greed for better housing facilities and population explosion!
This is happening everywhere in the world because of the rapid pace of development and land becoming scarcer!
Its not just high rises but also the industrial zones and commercial zones which are cutting into the green patches!

There are two things. One, industries are coming up fast and requires space and real estate. So more new buildings.
Second. Knowing that the industries are coming up some very shrewd people buy up land, build apartments and skyscrapers to make quick money.
Finally everybody will be losers in the sense there will not be any green cover, no birds, no flies, no pollination, no fruits, no farming and agriculture and finally no man

people like the way the green patches look when they visit them so they want to live there. so they build a lot of houses and high rises so that they wont be the only ones enjoying the scenery. and since there are so many people living there they need to build stores and gas stations and other places so they don't have to go too far to get the things that they need to survive.then since because they built so many the green patch is gone so they visit some other green patch. then they like the way it looked when they visited so they build a lot of houses and high rises so that they wont be the only ones enjoying the scenery. and since there are so many people living there they need to build stores and gas stations and other places so they don't have to go too far to get the things that they need to survive. and so on and so on and so on and so on.

If they have more than 13 floors, in fact there is a 13th floor. People are just too superstitious for some buildings, like hotels to state them. It will skip from 12-14.
