I am 21 yrs old and i have really bad wrists; they crack and pop all the time and the longer I use them the more sore they get. I work at an office job right now and everyday I go home and I can tell I worked that day. Ever since I was 9, my fingers and wrists, knees and ankles, neck and sholders all "crack" and pop. It is starting to worry me more and more? Could this get worse? Is there anything I could do/take that would help w/this?

It’s not Carpal Tunnel. Carpal Tunnel syndrome is onset by an entrapment or inflammation of the tendons through the carpal bones which are covered by the retinaculum (thus the tunnel is created). This inflammation irritates or puts pressure on the median nerve which gives you the classic symptoms of numbness, burning, and pain in the first two and a half digits of your hand. If you have had this problem since you were 9, it is definitely not CTS. CTS has a gestation period of anywhere from 3 weeks to 9 months (rather quick setting for a musculo-skeletal disorder). Some people have “loose” joints that cause problems in the carpal area because the bones movements rub and irritate the surround tissue, especially when under a work load. If you feel that the problem is work related (or made worse by your work station), see if your boss would allow you to have your work station evaluated by a professional ergonomist (not a physical therapist). If that is not possible, perform a quick personal evaluation of your desk. 1) If you use a computer, where do your wrists sit? Are they on the edge of the desk or keyboard tray? This can add external pressure to the CT, but also can irritate the flexor tendons passing through the wrist. 2) Do you have arm support? Either on chair arm rests or on the desk itself? When your arms are not properly supported, people often use their wrists for load support. 3) What is the angle of your wrists while you work? Your wrists should be in a neutral posture (not flexed or extended in either the horizontal or vertical directions). Achieving a neutral wrist posture can be as simple as lowering the back of your keyboard (do not use the little pegs on the bottom) or if you are using a keyboard tray, you can put a negative slope on your keyboard such that your number keys (across the top) are level or slightly below with the space bar. Try these tips and see if they help.

you need to be wearing wrist supports every day the entire time that you are working. These can be purchased at drugstores. This is going to support the wrists and minimize the pain. Place an ice pack on your wrists for ten minutes several times a day, especially at lunchtime. This should help take down the pain. Advil soft gel capsules are very good for taking down the pain quickly, use them four times daily.

If you don't feel better within a week see your medical doctor.

I'd get checked for carpal tunnel and arthritis. My hubby also pops and cracks...but has no pain with it. I'd head to a doctor and see if antiinflamatories and wrist guards can help.
