Your credit score is ok it is not bad. The avg. credit score is 650 so you are not that far. If you have anything bad on your credit report clean it up and then your credit score will go up too!!!

It's well below the national average of 675, but still a respectable score.

Much more important then score is what makes up your score as follows;

1. Payment history 35%
2. Time in bureau 15%
3. New credit 10%
4. Type of credit used 10%
5. Debt to credit ratio 30%

As you can see 1,2&5 are the most important as far as score is concerned. But score is not everthing, I look at credit all day and see people every month with 700 scores that can't get approved to buy a car because their score is made up of 1-credit card with a $500.00 limit paid 15-times and a couple of student loans.

What you need for a good score and profile is at least 3-revolving accounts (credit cards) and 2-installment accounts (autos, boats, homes, personal loans) all with good long pay historys. This mix of credit will give the best score/profile.

That score is marginal, not great but not horrible. Get a copy of your credit report from all three bureaus and start looking at everything that is reported. Dispute anything that looks erroroneus and make sure that any open accounts you have, you are making your payments on time - every time. Also, any revolving credit, if you are close to maxed out on your line of credit, get those balances paid down below 30 percent or paid off. My slogan is "If you can't afford it, you don't need it!"

Bad. You need at least 650 to get most loans or to be able to rent apartments and other things easily.
