Dave's comes out with a special edition from time to time. A few years back (1999) they came out with a Limited Special Edition Reserve called colloquially "Dave's Double Insanity". It came in a wooden coffin wrapped in caution tape. I had to sign a realease to get it on my wings.

...it was hot.

Mad Dog 357 Hot Sauce- made with 6 million scoville unit pepper extract. I had it in New Mexico, where I had to take a challenge to keep a toothpick dipped of the stuff in my mouth for 5 minutes. I couldn't cry or puke. I could take the toothpick out of my mouth if i needed to.
I ended up being the only person every to keep the toothpick in for the whole 5 minutes and won the challenge.
However, I hickupped for a half hour afterwards.

i'm a great fan of noticeably spiced, warm ingredients, and there are various dishes that i've got tried which i does not advise to my greater delicate buddies. an area Asian eating place, stated as Uncle Chen's, makes a Kung Pao fowl (or shrimp) that is adjusted for "warmth". I constantly decide for the better-stages, and it is incredibly warm (lots of Szechuan peppers, dried Thai chilies, and who-is familiar with-what else). yet of path, any dish could have warmth/spice further to it. the only maximum well liked element I ever tried---no longer a meal, in simple terms an factor---replaced into chocolate habanero peppers. They have been domestically grown, and that they do no longer flavor something like chocolate; they're so named as a results of fact the skins are the colour of milk chocolate. I shrink up & ate one, and that i presumed i replaced into going to die for greater or less 3 hours. I additionally further one (chopped) to a great batch of chili, and it grew to become the comprehensive pot of chili right into a "4-alarm" affair.

At the AJROTC Ball last year we made something called a Grog where each unit within the program pour one item into a punch bowl and we mixed it all together. One of the units poured an entire bottle of hot sauce into the bowl and as the Vice President of the Ball, I had to drink from it first. I immediately started to sweat and momentarily lost my voice.

Habaneros...yes they are spicy hot but I didn't think it was the spiciest thing I ever ate. Vinegar cured serrano peppers served at room temperature are oh so damn hot as well...excellent flavor but damn they were FIYA!!!

The hottest thing I have ever had was wasabi sauce. It's the green sauce they include with sushi. Its not hot when you first taste it but it has a way of tearing its way through your sinus cavity and making you cry. I suggest moderation and extreme caution with this stuff....it hurts!!

Back when I was trying to learn to cook, I tried to make horseradish mashed potatoes. I didn't think a tsp was enough, so I put in FOUR TBSP of RAW horseradish. My mouth was on fire, my sinuses hurt, my eyes watered, and my stomach was horrible! I almost threw up from the heat.
