Her Majesty was the Princess of Wales during the Second World War and she was in the Royal Army, IIRC she was a truck mechanic.
Since her coronations, Great Britain has been involved in many armed conflicts, mostly fighting colonial insurgencies such as the Malayan Insurgency.
Great Britain was also involved in the Korean War, which is a more or less Forgotten War. Then there was the decisive and successful Falklands War against Argentina, both the Gulf Wars against Iraq, and there is a British military presence in Afghanistan. (I wonder how some of the British Regiments in Afghanistan feel about returning to the areas where they took such a shellacking during the First and Second Afghan Wars of the 1840's?)

Perhaps you will recall WWII. Her father refused to leave London during the war. She actually did government service like car repair or driver or something. Then there was Vietnam, the Falklands, Iraq, Afghanistan, just to name a few.

She must have been involved in every war, as she is queen. Her son, Andrew, flew a helicopter in the Falklands.

I know that England has been involved in wars like the Falklands since she was crowned, but I don't recall her carrying a rifle or piloting a harrier jet.
