I have a reel that I would really really like to know how much it is when it first came out and maby how old it is and how much is it now? I'm going to tell you all it says because I dont know about reels at all.

Original retail on that particular reel was $19.99. It is approximately 15 years of age.

Shimano is a relative newcomer to the American fishing reel market compared to Penn, Mitchell, Shakespeare, which have been around for over 50 years. Although today Shimano is a well recognized quality fishing reel and fishing rods, what you have is probably not worth much, let's say $10.
