What does getting a finger cut off by someone mean? And what type of experiences or conversations might we have had that would have caused both of us to dream this on the same night?

The only difference was he dreamed a man took my finger off with a machete (I forgot to ask which finger...) and I dreamed a man cut my right pinky off with garden shears.

Thanks for the help!

Since you are married you are both one body and one flesh. So whatever is going on in you, he will feel also and vice versa. Getting your finger cut off is symbolic of losing your "grip" on issues or you let them bother you or stress you. You said, you saw the right pinky. The right hand is symbolic of the authority of a person. And by losing your finger is means you are not exercising your authority to get a hold of issues in your life. Now, your husband saw a machete and you saw a garden shears. Both are used for clearing vegetation. One is for dense brush, the other for pruning. So answer may lie in how you deal with obstacles and dealing with unwanted baggage. But this dream is specific to your marriage. Don't take it lightly. Okay take care.

Hi

Did you guys at any time during the last week talk about getting rid of something in the house or something you both liked? I’m not a psychologist but my aunt is and she actually gave me some of the case studies she did in her school years as I am very interested in them.

From that experience I can suggest that getting a part of your body removed means that you are planning to get rid of something (it might be as small as a mug or as big as a car), and your husband knows about it. Also I know that the content of the dream are caused by environment change while you sleep. For example, if the room temperature gets too hot then it is common to dream about burning. And you will be surprised to know that people dreaming the same thing sleeping on the same bed is not very uncommon. It happened to me couple of times.

Let me know if this interpretation made sense.

Historically, a finger being cut off was punishment for petty crime--the pinky for theft of food and the thumb for theft of animals. The man in YOUR dream is your husband who feels you have been dipping into the cookie jar too often and have lost your attractiveness. You know that you must 'cut' back and learn some self control. The man in HIS dream is actually a woman--his mistress--who he does not love but enjoys spending 'time' with. She wants to get you out of the way and have your husband to herself.

I am joking! If you and your husband share your dreams together, then you're both doing just fine. You shouldn't try to look too much into dreams--just enjoy them. However, if you dream that you get something cut off by a man every night then you might want to do something about it.

Did you watch a movie or an advert where something like that happened? I was amazed to see how people's minds are influenced by outside circumstances, once. They were doing a show on debunking ghosts and it was very effective - it's all down to mind control and the power of suggestion.
(I still believe in ghosts, but that's another story.)
There might have been something in a tv programme that struck a chord with you both.

You may face difficulty, pray a lot, take pre-caution in everything you do. Do not take it seriuosly but it is better to be alert rather than just ignore it

unlike every one else that didn't dream we got our finger cut off last night, normally if you dream it, it doesn't happen.

Sounds like you are on shaky ground in your life and you are worried about the future.
Are you worried about your job?

Kind of spooky. I would not walk around any sharp objects for awhile.
