Suppsedly the taste is different and while Diet Coke uses aspertame as its sweetner, Coke Zero uses a combination of aspertame and acesulfame potassium.

It seems to have the same ingredient list. I used to think that Coke zero was sweetened with the "Splenda" sweetener, but it turns out to be aspartame, just like in Diet Coke.
The only other difference I can find seems to be that "Diet Coke" is a diet version of the "New Coke" product fiasco.
"Coke Zero" bills itself as a diet version of Coca Cola Classic.
This might indicate slight differences in proportions that would lead to slightly different flavors

I think that the artificial sweetner is different. The Coke Zero does taste much better.

Well, one, the taste.
Diet uses a "more" healthy sweetner. It also have lesser calories than classic coke.
Coke zero, as the name suggests, has zero calories in it.
