The odds of being killed in any single flight are about 1 in 52.6 million. The odds of being killed in a traffic accident driving to the airport are 1 in 7.6 million, or about 700% more likely.

Even if you are unlucky enough to be on board a commercial airliner that does crash, you have about a 32% chance of survival.

If the odds were 14% as one poster stated, there would be several hundred fatal airliner crashes every day. If it was 00.1%, there would be dozens of fatal crashes every day. This is simply not the case. Commercial aviation is by far the safest mode of transportation in existence.

It can be from anywhere to anyplace but the likley hood of a plane crash is infinity.
It depends on so many factors, like the weather, pilot error or faulty plane and so on.
Sorry cant help you any further.
Be bold and fly and hope for the best.

statistically the most dangerous part of your holiday is the drive to the airport, the chances of the plane crashing are slim to non existent

14% Definite. These days security is so tight that its almost impossible for a threat on a plane. Unless they technical difficulties which is 5 out of 100 chances.

do you think the pilots and cabin crew would fly if they thought there was anything above minimal risk to their lives, they have families too, the most dangerous part of a pilots day is probably driving to work on the motorway. have a good trip x

it seems you are scared of travelling in an aircraft.
The chances of a plane fault is 1/300000 in usual daily flights. Also pilots are skilled in driving an aircraft, for they are virtually trained to handle cases such as missed landing, faulty gears etc.
I've been in 16 flights in the past five years, and none of them has any problems.
So i'm sure you'll travel through one flight safely!
