Yes, I came to my senses when I realized my life sucked and no I wasn't successful. Here I am dedicating my life to this god and getting nothing in return not even me but my family or friends. I really don't care if god helps me but help the starving children and he doesn't so I woke up and said hell if there is a god he is a selfish beast and I will never worship him again.

I have never had faith in god as a deity.

Even when I was very young, I could see there was something wrong with the way people just blindly accepted things that made absolutely no sense whatsoever.

If there is a god, and he is actually the way he is described in the bible (or other religious texts) then I don't want to have anything to do with him in the first place.

Instead, I allow myself to be one with the universe.

I believed in God and the church for 20 odd years, I started having doubts. Then the straw that broke the camels back..........
9/11. No god would allow this to happen

Tried, and failed. There are some things that just become unbelievable.

I've always tried to believe in God. What happened? I found him. So yes, I was successful. I hate to whip out the out of context Bible verse like so many people do, but there is one that fits here perfectly: If you look, then you will find!

I never had a problem with the God part, it was the Jesus part that just never clicked with me. Went athiest, then agnostic, then stumbled straight into Paganism and felt like I came home. Everything just fell into place for me.

I actually tried very hard to believe when I was younger. I couldn't MAKE myself believe. I REALLY tried. I don't get how people say you have a "choice" to believe in Jesus. I beg to differ. I have no "choice" to believe in something that to me,is nonsense. I have a choice to SAY I believe, but no more a choice to actually believe than a Christian has a "choice" to believe in elves. How does one "choose" to believe in something they think is nonsense?I don't have that particular talent,to convince myself to "choose" to believe in God,Allah,FSM,or elves. It amazes me that some obviously can "choose" to believe what they think is unbelievable. And the little hater Christians who will thumbs down me if I said "I love my mother"Until you can truthfully say you are making a "choice" to not believe in elves, you have no grounds to say I have a "choice" to believe in something I think is ridiculous
