Everytime i am just walking down the street i get this massive pain underneath the bottom of my left rib cage, it puts me out of breath (which then hurts when i breathe) and i have to walk really slowly as to not cause pain. any ideas what this is, its only been happening the last couple of days and has slowly gotten worse to today!!!!! Im only 20!

Its called a stitch. Try not to eat too much before you walk!

sounds like you may have pulled a muscle under your ribs. It could be your diaphram or you ribs. If it stays there only when you are walking I suspect it is related to that only. If you don't experience it at any other time then it is related to how you walk. Try a Chiropractor firstly then if that doesn't sort it try your GP for medicinal help.

I agree with Blaaa. I've had cracked and sprained ribs, but it should be getting better Ice it and get an xray.

If it's intermittent, it probably is a stitch. If it can be felt continually - worse when u breath in - then it sounds like pleurisy. I get this myself, often after having a cold, it's very painful. If it is, you need to see your G.P. for anti-biotics to clear it up.

Consult a doctor at once can be appendix and may need minor surgery
