Here is a link for those who say "Its ok for a Christian to get a Tattoo" or "Getting a Tattoo isn't a sin".

PLEASE! Visit this site and READ it before answering this question.

I would love to see what you think. This is not to bash other christians who have gotten tattoos, this is simply a matter of "Right and Wrong" "Good and Evil". I am against Tattoos and Piercings and i pray that all who read this will have a open mind and will not be contentious. God bless

For those who say "I got my Tattoo before i became a Christian" I am not saying that you committed a sin because you didnt know, but when you become baptised, you are cleansed and the Tattoo is nolonger apart of you, If you still glory in your Tattoo, then that is the wrong doing, If you get one before you become a Christian then its not held accountable against you but if you are still glorifying in that tattoo, thats the Down Fall.

I see no issue with it. Well, if it's a bad design, like a band name or the name of whoever you're dating, then there's a problem. But all the girls in my family, myself included, when we turn 16 we get Orion's Belt on our ankle, it's what my mom always relates to me and my two sisters. It's somewhat of a family thing. I'm still nervous about it though. One of my sisters has a few really pretty butterfly tattoos, I may get one as well.

But, it's your decision whether or not to get one, as is whether or not you think it's wrong. I do think, however, that if it was a sin, it wouldn't be that large of one, seeing as there's far worse you can do that be poked with a needle thousands of times.

Edit: I should also note that way back then, the methods they used probably weren't as clean as they are today. Many tattoos probably got infected, which could have led people to believe that they're a sin. You know, because every infection is God punishing you for something.

Leviticus 19:28 "'Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the Lord.

As far as piercing go. I think it's barbaric. When I go into a vendor in the mall or elsewhere and there is some kid there with some hunk of metal sticking out of his face in an inappropriate place I just turn around and leave. Many people my age do the same thing. If we all did the stores would stop hiring people who look like something out a a national geographic magazine and they would clean themselves up so they could join society.

Ears and nose piercings are talked about in the bible however I personally find nose piercings unattractive. To each their own.

whoever said tatoos are pagan in nature is not correct. Tatoos are only "pagan" in nature if the purpose of getting them was "pagan" in nature.

I personally didnt read the site because i dont need to know what it says to have my own opinion on this. I have tattoos and i am Catholic and it has no affect on how good a christian i am or not.

The only way you could possibly see it is that you are harming your body (which i personally dont believe you are), in which case it owuld fall under "your body is a temple of god"

good question... im a christian and the body is a temple and "biblically" it isnt wise to get tattoos or peircings i have had my ears pierced since before i became a christian and from my understanding if you've given your heart to the lord and if you ask for forgiveness your usually forgiven. besides we dont take our flesh into heaven only our souls. theres no way to "physically" pierce or tattoo your soul and if your right by the lord and you live your life correctly im sure its makes it ok

I think as long as you believe in God and accept him into your heart.I don't think it's a sin because if you look at Aaron Gillespie and Spencer Chamberlain(both from a Christan metalcore band called underoath). They both have piercings and tattoos. Then again it just depends on what you believe in and what you don't believe in.As long as you believe in God and accept into your heart. I think that's all that should matter not how many tattoos and(or)piercings you have.I personally like them.I have couple of piercings myself.

What of a person who was got a tattoo long before they became a Christian? Are they any less of a Chrsitian for it? I have one, that marks my birthplace and I'm proud of it. I got it years before Christ came into my life, but I don't think it any way takes away from my love for him.

Ok that is one opinion. Look the body, of you believe in God, is supposed to be the temple. So that should be your basis for starting to think about it. I do not see anything wrong with getting a tat.

Why is it that Christians always want to know what they can and can't do. Satanists don't worry about that stuff. Christians don't even think they can read that last sentence without making the decision to hate this comment because they aren't "allowed" to keep an open mind. Let me answer with a question... So if a guy covered head to toe in tattoos comes to church do you judge him? So what if they are tattoos of Jesus? What if the tattoos remind you of the pain Jesus felt at the crucifiction?

i think tattoos are pagan by nature and isnt worth the pain you go through in getting it.
christians should not even think of doing it.
but after all, it's a matter of their own conviction .

He who judges other people will be judged in the same way by God.
so let's not judge, just do what we think is right.
