Why do you think atheists visit this section?

To discuss religion and spirituality. Give us their point of view. Though, some of them, I'm beginning to see they're here for other things... but then, so are some of these other people (I have a better word for them, but obviously we can't use those words). Everyone has their own agenda... mine's just to have fun while on break at work.

Aparently that is the million dollar question because a day doesn't pass where at least one Christians asks why we are here.
I come here because I feel just as strongly about my religious beliefs (or lack thereof as some may say) as any religious person does and enjoy discussing them with people who share similar beliefs and even those who don't. I don't many people in 'real life' who share my beliefs so it's fun to come here and talk with people who do (and again, even people who don't).

I would say it is to stimulate conversation and thought. I think that most of them (aside from the trolls) want to do nothing more than to cause other people to think. I really don't think they are doing it out of malicious intent but just doing it to stimulate thought. and if they make someone ask a question about their faith good for them since there is nothing wrong with taking a deep hard look at your beliefs.

I'm sure every atheist here has a reason of their own, but I would think it's a combination of curiousity, wanting to engage a differing viewpoint, and wanting to express their own opinions.

For the same reason that theists are: to try to prove they are right about whether or not God exists. Considering how virtually impossible this is here at Y!A, it would appear that both sides are wasting their time. Ah, but it is entertaining nonetheless, so they continue to try.
