The Bible should win, hands down. The Bible, as we know it today, is a compilation of works by many different authors, so it is really a compendium of short novels, rather than a single work in itself. That said, it wasn't until many hundreds of years after these seperate books were written that they were put into a single tome and edited for continuity.

For historical perspective, imagination and straight fantasy blowout, the Bible holds it all down. I think, though, that it might be better to compare certain books within the Bible to Harry Potter. For instance, pound for pound, the book of Revelations is far more entertaining than Potter could ever be. The book of Psalms is far more poetic, Leviticus more judicious and Genesis is the basis for most modern fantasy creation myths.

By its impact, number of copies sold, and lasting place in fantasy literature, the Bible is an excellent example of what a good compilation work can be.

yAre thou serious. The bible has been around for thousands of years even when burned and banned from some countries it never was completely destroyed.

Harry Potter books are fiction, written by a woman while God used many men to record His words over hundreds of years and prophecy is being fulfilled, especially about the comming of the Messiah to rule and reign eternally and we believers will also.
Harry Potter books deal with things forbidden in God's holy word,i.e. incantations, witchcraft, etc.

This seems a fitting fitting question for my last 2 points to reach level 4.!

Or evolution, or man caused global warming, or Bush caused 9/11? You had better hope the Bible is a work of fiction!

Both appear to be works of fiction because they both deal with the supernatural world. One is inspired by God and the other by Satan.
