I know what you mean. i come here to have fellowship with like minds, but instead am bombarded by bigoted people. It seems that ANYTHING is welcomed and accepted today EXCEPT Christianity.
But that is OK. they can batter themselves bloody against the Bible, and being the greatest literary work in history, and window to the condition of the human soul, it will still be around and going strong a thousand years from now, after they are rotting in their graves.
Now, to be a little nicer, I used to be one of the scoffers, and invite you all to scoff all you want.
Usually, when you run from God, you end up running into him....

First, religon and spirituality are NOT the same thing. Religon implies a dogma, ritual and specific sets of beliefs.
But, I believe what you are seeing from the 'non-religous' set is justified anger at what we perceive is the narrow mindedness of organized religon.
After all, its the churchies who voted for the party of Evil and Mr. Bush, which in turn got us mired down into a useless expensive and tragic war. Those of us who have less religon and more love live with the daily hearbreak of all the human tragedy that the right wing has cause. Both to our service people and those poor, poor innocent Iraqi children.
Before the churchies got into power, America had high paying jobs with medical coverage and paid vacation.
Now we have a class of chronically poor, working for substandard wages. 30% of the population can't afford a Dr or Dentist and 1 in 4 Americans work without paid vacation.
All of these ills & tragedies can be laid directly at the door step of the Christian voter.
So, to add insult to injury, the churchies are now trying to take over the government and make everyone accept their obviously flawed view of the world. They aren't content to be miserable, but feel the need to spread their own mysery to infect the normal, sane and happy populations.
Sorry, but you guys brought it on yourselves.

I have not lost anything I purposely abandoned all forms of religion for personal and intellectual reasons. Yeah you are correct. I can never forget how judgemental, narrow-minded, and hypocritical I was when I was "on the righteous path" because that is what "Christianity" said that I should be.
I can never remember being this happy in my entire life.

Spirituality isn't necessarily related to religion so your question can be dismissed as having no validity or relevance "my friend". In any case I wouldn't want to miss reading the weird and wonderful crap from some of the loonies who post here. It's fascinating reading the thoughts of insane religious people.

no longer anybody is a liberal atheist or a spiritual republican. I do see your element however. yet i might could say that republicans look to lean extra on the religious section, whilst liberals look to have extra of an open suggestions on religious ideals. religious republicans do get extra thumbs up right here, yet interior the faith section that is approximately 50/50 atheists vs. religious.... politics does not play in as lots there.

Some people just live in a fantasy world and think that life is just about their conditioning to be atheists or materialists or empiricists. Life is spiritual and God exists regardless of what your fantasy is, thus the moths are drawn to the flame, even the hostile moths.

I think it is good to have non-religious people in the religion and spirituality section.
It adds flavor to the section.I think we should always be open minded to others opinions and thoughts.
By understanding them we can grow stronger.
Without differences and opinions we would blinded by believing without thinking

There are many many questions asked here about Atheists, so we come here to answer them. Those who come just to troll and insult are not Atheists, they are more likely the kids who get beat up in school and need a safe place to vent.

Because everyone is spiritual in their own way, even atheists.
Because spirituality is included in this section.
Because you don't have to be religious to be spiritual, and many spiritual people are not religious! At the same time, many religious people are not even remotely spiritual, and only think that they are. *sm*
