Any heavy reliance on a superstition is self-destructive. I don't see any as better or worse than another in the long run. The most you can say is that one or the other seems to be more powerful or less powerful at a given time. The less power given to a religion, the less destruction they seem to do.

Why no longer? the place did our ethical ideals come from considering that they are in direct assessment to evolution?

The fanatics. It doesn't seem to matter what faith per say, but anyone who gets so fanatic they turn to violence is pretty self destructive.
