I for one think evolutionary theory is the REAL Davinci-Code, and is the greatest hoax in human history.
Those of you out there who would call me a 'religious troll', or 'idiot', just remember, I used to be one of YOU.
I swallowed evolutionary dogma hook line and sinker and had it rammed down my throat since the cradle.
Science is a TOOL, nothing more. The study of evolution does NOTHING good for mankind, except soak up millions in research grants that could be used in research for cures to disease.
It is all about who can scream the loudest about their evolutionary doctrine (oops, I mean theory), so they can get that government grant.
I thought evolution was rock solid evidence. If this is correct, why are there SO MANY DIFFERENT THEORIES? hmmm....makes you wonder...
The vile corruption of true science makes me sick. Instead of it being a tool to help mankind, it is being used to replace God. On every cop show on TV now, we are bombarded with the investigator using the latest in scientific research to get the criminal. too bad this happens only about 25% of the time. In reality, it is only used in high profile cases, and still isnt that accurate. The cops can only bag the bad guy when someone rats him out, then they connect the dots.
The Investigator is usually hostile towards God or a flat-out atheist and scoffs at any religious ideas. Usually, the criminal is some ax-wielding Christian who said God told him to cut up the body, or it is a priest who raped the child, killed it, and buried it.
I am an engineer on a whale watching boat. Part of our function is scientific research while doing tours at the same time. When we have a researcher on board to do studies, it is announced of the P.A. system, and the passengers act like they have seen Christ, and scramble over each other to have a picture with a real, live scientist.
This is how far the BRAINWASHING of society has gone.
If you want to be TRULY UNBIASED about the whole evolution theory, pick up a National Geographic from 70 years ago, and get a good laugh from the scientific 'proof' they offered for evolution back then. It is flat-out racist.
I know, you have a way to wiggle out of that, too. It seems that science 'evolves', and grows. You people really have it figured out, don't you? I do admire your faith....
I will stick with specific design.
...and they worshipped and served the creature more than the creator, who is blessed forever.....

Theory of Gravity.... calling it a Theory doesn't make it any less true. But just in case, let's test it... go outside, climb a tree and jump out. We'll see if you float or not.
I have never seen so many people get this upset over Evolution before. This is the silliest argument I have ever seen. As if that's the only 2 options in the world... Believe in the Biblical God or believe in Evolution. *Sigh* Come on people, surely you can come up with something better than this.
BTW, the definition you gave is more the definition of Hypothesis than it is for Theory.
And could you show me where it says to pray for faith?
2 Timothy... odd, NONE of the New Test was even written when that was said... the only thing that is talking about is the TORAH... not the Bible. The Bible wasn't even put together till 3 centuries later!
I won't be duped... I actually read the history.

Well it is a job. Foundations do pay good money to fund those theories. Sometimes those theories do benefit people, you know like the THEORY a tooth can be saved by drilling into it and filling it in with something instead of PULLING IT and leaving you with no front teeth!
Like the THEORY you can cut into the body and remove a ruputred appendix so the person can live another 40 years.
Like the THEORY that people with brain damage or in comas might come back if you keep them on life support long enough. I recall George Bush and the Republicans buying into that theory for a woman in Florida.

It's great that you have so much faith in your belief. That same faith should enlighten you to the fact that your's is merely a speck in the unlimited possibilities of what the truth really is. Scientific analysis and theory is the real true way to understanding our existence, an existence which must absorb any and all information. You're closing your eyes to the 'light' if you don't encompass all knowledge! The history recorded in the bible is only a very small part of the full story.

For the zillionth time,in scientific terminology,a theory is not simply an opinion or fancy about something. A theory actually encompasses more than laws. Evolutionary theory is actually on more solid footing than gravitational theory ,as in TOE,we do have the "mechanism"(DNA and genetic drift) that causes evolution to happen. While gravitational theory incorporates the LAW of gravity(everything with mass exerts an attractive force on everything with mass)With a thus far, purely hypothetical mechanism, the graviton. We know there must be some means of the gravitational "pull" being exerted, yet so far,we have detected not the 1st "graviton". So,in reality, gravity is actually much less "proven" than TOE. Yet,that is accepted without question. While TOE,which is understood much better than gravity,is rejected. Makes no sense

The bible is waste paper that orginally was used to wipe peoples's rectums
and, like every good troll, you are misusing the term Theory.
theory is an idea (basically same as the word hypothesis)
Theory is the scientific technical term meaning a hypothesis which has been tested many times which most data pointing to a positive result.
So there ya go, you won't care being a troll and all but hey who cares. If you are wondering why I believe as i do I will tell you. Because God gave me the gift of THOUGHT and REASON and it seems really evil and disrespectful to spit on them and throw them back in God's face like bible thumpers do

Well, the problem here is that your Eternal Fate depends on Evolution not being true. How sad. You will completely ignore all scientific evidence for fear that you will blink out of existence when you die were any of it to be proven true. You see, without a literal Adam, you wouldn't have the "First Sin," and therefore wouldn't have "Original Sin," and therefore you wouldn't need Christ's salvation because there wouldn't be anything to save you from! The problem with this chain of logic is that it rests on a pretty shaky block -- and that block gets shakier every day. When they finally discover enough fossil evidence to knock that block out from under you, what will you do?
There are many other religions out there that do not require that you turn off your brain and accept mythology as history. Some of them are even denominations of Christianity -- I think even the Catholic Church accepted evolution. True Science isn't out to disprove God, it's just trying to understand the Universe. Don't confuse Science with Scientism -- Scientism is a backward and fundamentalist view of Science, you will hear some atheists and paranormal debunkers spouting it. It's just as close minded as some religions, and it gives science a bad name.

"Should scientists (and everyone else) depart room for the probability that there's a mysterious clever "fashion designer" or whatever unexplainable at the back of the whole lot we see?" No. If it is unexplainable, what sort of an reply is that? And no, ID does no longer keep any water. It's no longer even a systematic thought. It does nevertheless keep water with those that consider and suggest it, and that's wherein it will get damaging. People positioned their believe in those so-known as Christian scientists, best to be grossly lie to.

You misinterpret the word theory. A scientific theory is a belief based on solid evidence. Evolution is scientific fact. For example the "Theory of Gravity" explains why you don't fall of the face of the earth or the Theory of Relativity explains that mass and energy are equivalent.
The wonderful thing about a theory is that it can be modified if convincing new evidence comes to light. Thus science endevours to discover the truth, not to protect established beliefs even if proven to be false (unlike religion)

Ahhh... a Bible literalist! Consider this. You base your entire life on this book. Lets start with Genesis. Adam and Eve had two living boys, Cain and Seth. Sisters, of course, don't count for much and were not named in the bible. Either Seth and Cain had relations with their sisters or their mother. So, all of God's holy people were born out one incestuous relationship or another. If you are descended from Cain, you are descended from the first murderer, also. So, how much do you really want the bible to be literally true?
And you thought my ancestors were bad just because they were apes. No incest or murder in my family tree. Which do you think God would approve of?
