Call the local Tackle Shops, they are always great with giving advice, just make sure you go there and buy things at times, that way you don't just use them for advice, it also grows friendships with people that can really help you out time after time.

Try to find some recent fishing reports for the lake or region you are planning on fishing. A simple search on the internet will usually yield a report or two. I have found that local newspaper sites typically have an outdoors section and a lot of times these fishing reports are updated weekly. Most of the time these reports cover multiple species. Hope this helps.

You can have an idea of what is going to happen, but you don't really know until you get there and find where they are. Check the fishing reports before you go, that way you know a good idea of where to go and what to use.

I have finally learned the secret. The fish normally bite twice a day...... before I get there, and after I leave.
