why do you want to feed your dog fruit and fruit ad veges??
dogs arent human and do not have the necessary stomach processes needed to break open the cell wall on plants.... giving them vegges and fruit is usually useless and life threatening.

heres a list of a few to avoid (they can kill dogs or make them seriously sick). theres a lot more, these are just the ones of the top of my head -

avocadoes, nuts, beans, garlic, onions, grapes, apples (yes, apples), all stone fruit, prunes, broccoli, tomato (leaves), mushrooms, olives, potatoes, rhubarb, sprouts and many (not all) root vegetables....

do NOT feed apples or potatoe like other answers said - apple can cause diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain... potato has a thing in it called glycoalkaloid solanine which can cause very serious intestinal problems.

the smart thing to do would be feed your dog a proper dog diet instead of messing with unusual foods. feed him raw or boiled meat (bbq, fried or grilled can be dangerous), raw bones and a good quality dry food.

if your dog has eaten toxic fruit and vegges before and has been ok, it doesnt mean his next meal wont kill him.

WHile fruits and veg does no harm to a dog they are also NOT beneficial to them unless they are ground to a pulp in a food processor first. Dogs are carnivores and their teeth is the biggest clue this is true. They do not have teeth designed to chew and break open the cellulose on veggies to get the nutrients out. They also have a VERY short digestive tract that doesn't allow enough time for them to get any good from veggies.
People are under the assumption that just because dog food companies are now throwing garbage into dog food that it must be beneficial and that is just not the case. Dog food companies are where America puts 'waste'/foods no longer acceptable for human consumption. If it was good enough for humans... humans would be getting it. So what you hae in dog foods are veggeis that have met their expiration dates.
They are cooked down to a powder and sold as veggies to dog food companies.. Remember. ALL ingredients are a powder in order to go throughthe machine that makes the shapes of the dog food. By the time the veg gets to the powder state it is depleted of nutrients and by the time itgoes through the machine and cooked at high temps it is completely VOID of any nutrition. It becomes a filler and the companies taut that its in there as selling points/tactics. That is a fact and easy to understand IF you are aware that veg starts to lose it nutritional value under hot tap water and loses most of the value if cooked beyond 'steamed'. So if HUMANS can't even get nutrition out of a vegetable if it is over cooked, then how the heck is a dog getting anything out of a food that is powdered then cooked? With his short digestive tract... he is not getting anything accept full!
Raw veg needs to be pulverized to be of any value.
People can continue to wishful think and live in some kind of a dream where veggies are as good for a dog as they are for you and I but thats all it is.. a dream land.

Im sorry I gotta go with freedom on this one! Dogs are carnivores they dont need vegetables and there stomach is spec made just for that type of animal you dont see wolves or coyotes eating vegs! They are in the same group of animals. The only time a dog eats greens is usually when they have an upset stomache!!

I know which ones are not safe, if that helps. Onions, grapes and olives are bad for dogs.
My dog has literally eaten every other fruit and veggie and never had a reaction.
Hope that helps :)

Raisins, grapes, onions and a lot of garlic are bad. Everything else I can think of is OK in small amounts, too much will cause loose stools. Either steamed or minced veggies and over ripe fruits are best for dogs.

Fruits are described as ripened flower ovaries which produce seeds.

I know that onions are TOXIC and should never be fed. Avocados should also be avoided.

Carrots and potatoes are favorites of most dogs.
