Yes, it's the Book that came to us to be read and if all the children will be encouraged to read this world will be a lot better...without all the bad things that happen around.
The children read the New Testament, all that can help them be real human beings. A little child will not read things that are not for him...and if he/she reads we, as parents, have to explain what it is it about...for that we have to know what is the Bible talking about.

May God give us all the wisdom we need at the proper time!

I think they developed Sunday School as a means of introduction to the bible for small children.

I would follow their lesson plans for a bit and let them expound into other territories if interested,

I don't think small children would have a comprehension of what they were reading if they were to simply read the bible without supervision and guidance.

Of course not. The Bible isn't a book that pulls any punches. It tells about God and the human condition without beating around the bush. God isn't afraid to disclose the wickedness of the human heart and our need for a Savior. Little children need to be taught about Jesus and God's love and his commands that He give us for our good. Just like I wouldn't show a child a documentary of the Nazi death camps or a film showing fornicators and sodomites engaging in illicit sex, neither would I show a young child every part of the Bible.

Yes and no.. I encourage my older children to read the whole bible, and talk about what they think the Lord is telling them. To make sure they understand. But they chose to study it, it's not like I force it on them. Now for my little ones, no I help them along and I teach them love first.
