I am keeping to a very strict calorie intake and exersise program. I donate blood every 12 weeks and I am naturally hungrier than usual on the days I donate. I know the body recovers from the blood loss within 24 hrs and recovers from hemoglobin loss within a few weeks, but I was wondering if anyone knows the calorie intake needed for the body to recover from the donation in that first 24 hours?

I donate regularly too and I've never heard of a requirement to take in extra calories to replace the blood. The blood service do lay on free biscuits and crisps but that's more to do with giving you a temporary energy boost and it's not compulsory to eat them. They do advise you though not to do exercise soon afterwards.
