So my laptop sits on a chair, and I sit on the ground to use my laptop. After using it for a couple hours, I started to feel pain near the top of my spine, and a little to the right. The pain almost feels like a burning or pinching sensation.
Why is this happening?
How can I prevent it from happening again in the future?
How can I make the pain go away?

When I said:
"How do I make the pain go away?"
I meant:
"How do I make the current pain I'm feeling (that I just described) go away RIGHT NOW?"

Place an ice pack on the area of pain for ten minutes. Do this several times a day. Advil soft gel capsules will help with the pain, take them four times a day.

You do have to change how you use your laptop as this is the reason you are getting pain and it's going to get worse over time. The number one complaint doctors see is pain from computer usage. Place your laptop on a desk and use a supportive chair to prevent this from happening again.

To get rid of the pain right now ice the area for 10 minutes and take some advil. When pain is a "burning/hot" sensation it means it's nerve pain as opposed to just muscle pain. Your posture while on the computer is putting pressure on a nerve. Move your computer to a desk/table and sit in a proper chair. Keeping your arms raised in that position is an enormous effort and you will end up with muscle spasms in the upper back, shoulders, and neck.

You're likely getting a cramp in your back from sitting in a strange position / just from sitting on the floor for so long.

Prevent it by using it on a table where you can sit at a chair, or stretch more before you sit on the floor for an extended period of time.
