It depends, in part, on the intensity. Most calorie counts for exercises are based on doing the activity for an hour. I provided a website below that contains calories counts, according to weight categories, for over a hundred activities. It doesn't show crunches, per se, but it does have weightlifting and other aerobic activities. Check it out. In general, though, crunches or any weight-lifting activity will not burn calories nearly as fast as cardiovascular activity like jogging, walking, biking, rowing, etc.

so, i guess you are trying to lose weight?
sit ups burn very little calories but build muscle fantasticaly so you will end up having bigger belly since there is gona be more muscle underneath the layer of fat (which sit ups do not burn)
cardio is the only fat burning exercise -do it 4-6 times a week for 30-50min and combine with light weight training to not lose and tone muscle (cardio burns fat and muscle both and more muscle=faster metabolism)
