I know, me too, have a look at the question I asked deffending them...Whenever I say "Yes I know they have made a mistake, but haven't they suffered enough?" some people also answer "No, they haven't suffered at all" there are some really selfish people out there...don't worry...

Oh yea I believe the have suffered... guilt like that will be enough to eat anyone alive. I however believe, and will never stop believing that they were negligent of their children and should be made after this is all over to pay legally for it.
If a brother made a ghastly mistake and drove under the influence with his little sister in the car and subsequently ran into a tree, him surviving but the sister succumbing to her injuries. God knows that he would have suffered... god knows he would have to live with the guilt of taking such an idiotic risk. But the fact can not be denied that he did something wrong. So too with the McCanns.
They are suffering... yes, but I can't find it in myself to not feel disgusted at the idiotic risk that they took that could have resulted in the death of their precious girl.
And yes I am aware that Maddie would still be here had not some sick, twisted person taken her. But although the fact remains that whoever took that girl should be punished to the greatest degree of the law, it is pellucid and should not be denied that the McCanns' neglect was what provided the platform for the monster to make off with Maddieline.

They're ignorant (who leaves three toddlers alone in a foreign country??), selfish (they wanted to go to dinner??), irresponsible (see "ignorant") people who deserve NO compassion, and all the taunting people feel necessary to throw at them.
What angers me most about this situation is that the apartment/resort where they were staying, a babysitting service was offered. What the hell? WHY didn't they leave their children with the babysitter? If they had (and their daughter had been kidnapped in that case), my heart would be breaking for the McCanns right now. However, they didn't do this, so I feel no pity, sympathy or compassion for these ridiculous people who should be sterilized.
As for making a "mistake" -- a mistake is when you acidentally spill coffee on your desk, frying your computer, or leaving the dog outside all night and he escapes and is hit by a car. Leaving three unattended young children in a foreign country is no mistake -- it's neglect.

Unless the McCann have the British stiff upper lip. They hardly look if they are grieving about their daughter. Now they off to Rome to meet the Pope. Yes I agree with you there have be to much been asked on this about the McCann leaving their children on their own etc.

I feel both angry and sorry for them; more sorry now than anger.
But you cannot avoid the fact that three children under four were left alone for long periods of time. That should not have happened. They should have had more sense of responsibility towards their children.
Whether or not there was a danger of them being kidnapped, there was always the danger of them hurting themselves in some way and having to wait at least 20 minutes for their parents to show up.
Anything could have happened - and it DID!!!

I cant understand the people who come onto YA denigrating the McCanns everyday. They made a mistake and most normal, sane, people can understand why they may have felt secure in a small holiday village, in a restaurant close to their rooms.
Most normal, sane, people can understand why they want to keep their missing child at the forefront of public attention, even though that means they have to play up to the media.
Some people have actually said on this site that they HATE them
That is just sick and evil

how old were these children?
in my state (va) a child has to be at LEAST 12 to be left alone (legally).
the parents were at dinner and went to check on them often. if they had the time and energy to go check up on them they had the time and energy to have them with them AT dinner.
most nice hotels have babysitting now. if they wanted or needed a babysitter they could have taken one on vacation with them or gotten one from the hotel.

im sure those grieving parents actually are taking the time out of their search to read what people say on yahoo answers. and if they do it wold make me question them more.
it is their fault that baby girl is missing. i hope that child welfare steps in and takes the other two for neglect

I think everyone feels sorry but them but a lot of people feel leaving the kids on their own could be asking for trouble, which of course has been proved right. I'm sure most people really feel for the McCanns but everyone is entitled to their opinion - it's in the news so much we all know about it and have our views.

yeah it makes me sick. i got my first ever violation notice for telling someone to grow up when they posted a horrible question about the mcganns. i thought it was funny what people will report you for! my view of people has seriously gone down since reading the views about the mcganns on this site. the judgements that people make, if they were in the same shoes i bet the story would be different.
