For:

- australia and NZ now have very different foreign policies
- technology has changed wars
- our soldiers arent fighting for king and country to the same extent, nor do they get any credit

Against:
- by 'belonging in the past' we are saying that we should stop paying tribute, which is disrespectful
- these men shaped our nations, and no matter how much changes, their sacrifices give us the freedom we have to day

A "Legend" can only belong in the past, more so now, for all or if not all 99% of the men who helped create the legend are dead.

These men belonged to a different world, than we live into day, but they did not hesitate to serve, to fight against the evil, they perceived as being a threat to their old homeland, they knew if Prussia and its partners succeeded in taking over Europe, then the world as they new it was gone.

In the telling of all stories connected to war there will be some exaggeration but the facts are there to be seen and justify the proud place the Australians and New Zealanders hold.

I don't understand your question. ANZAC was and is a collaboration of like minded people who were willing to sacrifice their lives for the good of the people and country they loved.

It is not a legend. It is fact!
