In Australia, there are Aldi Supermarkets everywhere, and more and more being built all the time. Their food is just as good as the big name supermarket chains, except the brand names are unfamiliar. Alot of them are actually made locally too. They sell everything (even the kitchen sink) and like you said, their prices are so low. I bought my fiance a pair of steel capped work boots for $70 (when they are normally close to $200) and they are still going strong after 2 years. I bought my sons a gorgeous rug for their bedroom which was only $50, again I would have expected to pay close to $200 for such a quality rug. I ♥ Aldi !!!

I prefer Aldi because their groceries are always at a great price and they have more then groceries there, too!!..The only thing I hate about Aldi's is the fact that you have to pay for your grocery bags, but normally I just take my own.

I live in Central New York and there are Aldi's, but no Cole's. We try not to shop at Aldi's (or the Super Walmart) because Aldi's imports most of their foods and it doesn't support your local economy...also, they are not very fresh, and we don't shop for food at the Walmart because it is trying to undercut all the local union grocery stores (can't do that, people need to keep their jobs -- but we do shop at Walmart for automotive stuff and household cleaners) -- but P and C is where we shop, or Wegman's, because they are both good to their employees.

I can't say, because where I live the only real grocery store is 10 miles away and it's shaw's which I don't really like. If I travel about 30 minutes I can hit a super wal-mart and about 45 minutes for a market basket! Oh the joys of being a hick, lol.
