How is heroin being abused by its users?

Would smoking heroin (as opposed to injecting it) not lead to addiction?

Abuse of heroin comes in the form of snorting, smoking, and injecting. People who snort or smoke heroin adhere to the false belief that snorting or smoking won't lead to addiction. However, more often than not, they turn to injection later on when their bodies have already increased tolerance of heroin.
