This question relates to global warming and environmental degradation. In the present day many people are concerned about climate change and the damages human activities are causing to the planet and environment. It seems, for the most part, to be global warming that is causing people to believe or not, in changing our activities and protecting the environment. My question is - personally, putting all issues aside, do you feel that the environment is worth respecting and saving just for its asthetic and ecological value? If climate change hadn't been promoted and was not known, would your own values and morals see you respecting the environment? Why is it that many people are only interested in actively respecting the environment now?

Its simple. The answer is Survival. Global warming is a threat cause we believe that sooner or later the climate on Earth may start getting in hospitable for humans. Global warming is not a new issue, its been promoted since many years. Its only recently that things are getting worse and their is an urgent need to curb our methods which are contributing to this. Its not a one man job but a responsibility of each and every human. Global warming has adverse effects on our health too. But just because its slow we are nor aware of it. I dont thing it has anything to do with moral issues or respecting the enviornment. Its like if there was a fire in your house you would certainly take all measures to extinguish it.

The American Indian for the most part always protected
their back yard in the past in more ways the people today
care to think about . But , one thing is for certain , the
chemicals that are put out into the air and into the ground are
a key factor in our health as a whole . Look what they did
70 , 60 , 50 ,40 , years ago and right up to present day . We
are just starting to feel the damage done . Like lost fresh
water reserves , closed off parks and woodlands due to
the toxin's that are pushing back up out of the ground . All
these things combined have killed many people , shorten
our life's , made us sick , and have given many & all kinds of
cancer . That is why they are starting to wake up !! soon we
won't have water for our existent. We must think of the future of our children and not just our selfish wants but , the need
to try and clean it up ( that is the real challange ) otherwise
there is no hope for a healthy planet and us ....

I believe environmental problems are certainly one of the top issues in recent time...It had not always been so and that's a pity...Humanity just wasn't mature enough 100 years ago to consider these very important things, now we face consequences...
