Try to go on a date to see if things change.... After a few dates if you don't think it's a good idea then don't go out with him again. It's your decision.

Stop, and see how the friend reacts.
Does he miss your flirtful playing?
Does he want to date you?
Does he like you that much?
If not, leave him alone.
