Go with the cabin beds, otherwise, if your kids are like most, they'll wait until you leave the house and try to throw themselves off the top bunk.
The cabin beds will give you more storage, and in the event that you move to another house where the kids don't share a room, you won't have to buy new beds.

My boys share a room and they have bunk beds. The closet and dresser are big enough for all of there clothes and it leaves plenty of space. There is even enough room under the bunk beds for plastic storage bins. My sons are 5 and 3 and there has never been a problem with who sleeps where. My 5 yr old sleeps on top and his brother has to ask permission to go up and vice versa. They both know they have to ask first and they respect that rule. (probably the only rule they DO listen to). My 5 yr old has never had a problem on the top bunk either. Works great.

It's all on the age of the kid, (I'm guessing they're young enough) I think your best beat would be to get a bunk bed set that can break down into twin beds. I know storage is useful, but bunk beds are just fun. Plus they save room, so you can add more storage.

When I was a kid we had bunk beds until I was about 10 and then we changed to cabin beds as we had more storage needs.

avoid cabin beds.

me and my sister shared a room as teenagers and we had cabin beds and unless you have a huge bedroom, they dont leave a lot of space to move around in, they loom over the room so if you want to sit on the floor then you feel really enclosed....horrible. plus we hit each other with the ladders.

i have the same issue and will be going with bunk beds, which you can personalise, eldest on top bunk and plenty of shelves for storing things. u can also store quite a lot under the bottom bunk, esp if you get boxes which slide under.

plus i dont know if your kids have games consoles but if they do...have you ever tried playing one from the top bunk of a bed? its hard and will get really annoying for them. get a few cushions to convert the bottom bunk into a sofa type seat if they want to play.

Depends how old are the kids? If they are BOTH younger then 8 - 10 cabin beds. If one child is older then 8 - 10 have the eldest sleep on the top bunk.

I would say avoid bunk beds - you will otherwise spend your life trying to get the kids to understand why it is ther should not be jumping form the top bed - either that or make firends with the emergency room for broken arms. I have a son aged 4 and a daguhter aged 2 - I had to get rid of the beds when the gild followed her brother and cracked her arm! Better safe than sorry.

id go for 2 cabin beds instead of bunk beds stops the arguments of who sleeps on top and gives them their own bed space area to keep tidy etc. and the storage under the cabin beds are amazing!
