It seems that anyone who says anything against illegal immigration is cast out as a racist or a bigot. I am not saying that this is ALWAYS the case, but it happens quite often.
And what about the American representative being booed at the Miss Universe pagent. Being booed because Americans are becoming intolerant of illegals? That makes no sense to me. Are we supposed to look the other way when someone is here ILLEGALLY? I mean, if someone just came into your backyard and decided to live there and expected no retaliation and wanted to do everything under the radar would you not want them to get the hell out? It isn't a matter of race - you are taking over someone elses property!
Personally I am pretty much against anything illegal and I am for protecting America.
I have no problem with anyone wanting to come to this country and become a productive member of it - if it is done legally. My family came here from Ireland in the 1940's did it the right way, so can't everyone else?

Mary B: I agree with you on the Miss Universe pagent, but I stated it as an example of how illegals love to bad mouth or "boo" Americans, but are coming in to the country in droves. The pagent wasn't the BEST example I agree.

SPQR: you are a perfect example of the problem. I never said MEXICAN - why? Because I am intelligent enough to realize that NOT ALL ILLEGALS ARE MEXICAN.
I am talking about people coming here and have broken US law right off the bat, not about their race or religion. You are a perfect example of the portion of society that only hear what you want and then you take everything out of context from there.
The example I gave about the pagent? That kind behavior is present is A LOT of illegals - not just MEXICAN illegals.
Thank you for proving my point!

TREMENDO HOMBRE: wow, you guys just keep on proving my point! I am a bigot because I stand up for American law and you don't like that...you only see what you want and hear what you want.
Pull your head out of your can and actually READ what I wrote.

It is because that is the new standard argument when you cannot defend your actions on any subject these days. Illegal immigration is both a crime and a security issue. People that support illegals cannot argue their case against these 2 basic points. Faced with no others options for a legitimate argument they take one of 2 tactics. They either attempt to attack their opponents with slander such as being racist, or they try to argue the human side. Either way it still does not erase the 2 original basic points. If people want to label me a racist because I am against the flagrant violation of my country's laws then so be it, but it does nothing to change my opinion on the matter and never will. Take heart though because the majority in this country have finally awoken to the reality of just how out of control the situation really is and they are not willingly going to stand by and watch as lawbreakers are once again rewarded by our government. The funny thing to me is that if the situation were reversed and Americans were streaming into another country at this rate we would be called evil invaders.

Because, some ppl are, in all true reality, bigots. And I'm not talking about us who are against the Illegals. I'm talking about the ones who jump the sec. they hear any truth about the illegals. They are the bigots. And i only say this because, they are against us Americans. I know weird cuz some of them who think the illegals have right to be here, are Americans.
I came to the conclusion that they are the bigots against the American, is because they do NOT care about our futures, our laws, or our economy.

It isn't a matter of racism as in how racism had always been used. It is a matter of preserving America. Remember when Nikita Khrushchev was the secretary of the communist party of the United Soviet Socialist Republic, now, with the downfall of their country, known as Russia? He said they could take over our country without firring a shot.
At an immigration overpopulation conference in Wash. D.C., a brilliant college professor, Victor Davis Hanson talked about his latest book "Mexifornia," explaining how immigration was destroying the entire state of Calif. He said it would march across the country until it destroyed all vestages of The American Dream.
Moments later, former Colorado Governor Richard D. Lamm, Dem. (not a lib) stood up and gave a stunning speech on how to destroy America. The audience was spellbound as he described eight methods for the destruction of the US.
Arnold Toynbee observed that all great civilizations rise and fall and that 'an autopsy of history would show that all great nations commit suicide.
At the end of his speech he said "I would next make it impossible to enforce our immigration laws. I would develop a mantra: that because immigration has been good for America, it must always be good. I would make every individual immigrant symmetric and ignore the cumulative impact of millions of them.
It dawned on everyone at the conference that our nation and the future of this great democracy is deeply in trouble and worsening fast. If we don't get this immigration wildfire stopped, it will destroy everything in it's path. Especially the American Dream.
Being oppossed to immigration is not racist and it's no joke! If you love and care for our country take time to go to this web site.

""Did you know Tejas and Califournia are mexican land. ""
Pancho, did you get any education at all. Mexico sold california.. along with nevada, utah, and part of colorado, wyoming, new mexico and arizona to the USA in 1848.
So it hasnt been part of mexico for 159 years.
Santa Anna and the Mexican Army was defeated in 1836 and Santa Anna promised to recognize Texas' independance from Mexico, which of course he and Mexico never did which led to the US - Mexico war.
Eventually you had the Guadalupe Hidalgo Treaty and the Gadsden Purchase
Mexico has no claim to the land for over 150 years now and internationally the USA is recognized as owning the land.
You can say whatever you want but it isnt true.

Yes, and it's not just illegal Mexicans that I am not happy with but Canadians or any other people that do it. It just so happens Mexicans are doing it by the millions. It really, really isn't a racial issue, I wish it were Canadians so people couldn't pull the race card to further an agenda.

When a person has no logical argument left they pull out the race card and other forms of name calling. They hope the LOGICAL person will then back off. Personally, I don't.
Some pro-illegal can call me a racist all he wants. I'm not and I know that my logic and FACTS are correct! The pro-illegals will always be wrong! What part of ILLEGAL is so hard to understand?

I agree with you man. People are called bigots because the people supporting amnesty dont have anything logical to say, its that simple. Most liberals dont have anything to back up their claims, so they yell "bigot" or "racist". Its sad. Im not a bigot, but why should people be rewarded for breaking the law? My family came over here legally in the early 1900's as well, everyone else should have to come LEGALLY.

There is a big difference in speaking of illegal immigration and being racist. Sadly most postings here on illegal immigration do include racism.
Illegal immigration is an almost world wide problem needing urgent attention and open and honest debate.
Racism is a world wide problem needing similar treatment.
If people could keep the two areas apart it might just allow an open debate but every time the two become combined the issue becomes bigoted and the points gets lost!

The illegal aliens and those who support them don't have any good argument, because it is clear to see that illegal aliens are at fault because they are breaking our laws and coming into the country illegally. So what can they say in their defense? Nothing, so they just start calling Americans racist and bigot, etc.

Because it's easier to call someone a bigot than to try and argue the completely irrational thinking that the immigration problems in this country aren't a problem.
P.S. Pancho have you never heard of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo? Mexico has already been paid for this land. Sorry Charlie, I mean Carlos.
