But the real question is, Would you be fool enough to believe Genesis?

Since God's highest commandment is to love one another, I'd have to really look at that scripture. I cannot see God saying that. Even if it were true in Genesis, a few thousand years later when the laws changed, you follow the current laws.

To put this into perspective: slavery was perfectly legal in the early 1800s right here in the US. Does that mean it's acceptable today?

Just remember when you look at the laws in the Bible, that times may change what God shares with people.

Genesis does not say it is right to kill. In reference to the life of Cain after killing his brother Able, God place a mark on him, and anyone who killed Cain, God would reap vengeance sevenfold.

Genesis may not say that, but God did tell the law giver, Moses, to smite his enemies. He was to not leave one alive. But that just turned the Jews into terrorists; so no, it doesn't make it alright.

You're using a circular argument. The reality is that there have been tons of people throughout time who have thought that it is alright to kill. Are you going to listen to God or yourself?

But Genesis does say killing is right, it's just not entirely indiscriminate about whom you kill. Y'know, not Jews, but Midianites? Knock yourself out.

To base your actions today on a book that is centuries old is nuts. No matter WHO wrote it.
