It's usually to avoid crowding your other teeth. The wisdom teeth just get in the way and people really don't need them.

Lol when I got my wisdom teeth pulled out I honestly dont remember a thing for the rest of the day. But, my friends that picked me up said I was rambling random stuff on the way home from the surgeon. The next week you will be in some pain but it is managable pain not as bad as breaking your arm or anything. You wont be able to eat solid food for that week probably too just because of the pain of chewing. But, good luck and don't get all anxious and stress yourself out over it most people have to do it sometime or another

The wisdom teeth are fairly useful as back molars in general, however, besides the many common problems with them coming up correctly, they pose problems later in life. Even if they do come up straight, when a person hits their fourties existing wisdom teeth often grow to fuse with the jaw bones, which causes even more problems.
So it's not a dire concern to get them out unless you have major discomfort, but in general it's better to get them out now than later.

Some people don't need their wisdom teeth taken out, however, most do. Our jaws aren't big enough for wisdom teeth. If we don't take them out, then they will crowd the mouth and cause problems.

because not everyones mouth has enough space for them. So sometimes they cause damage to your other teeth and need to be removed in order to save the other teeth, as wisdom teeth are not really necessary (and dont provide much extra wisdom)

Because it's inevitable that they will eventually rot, and do so at an inconvenient time and cause a lot of pain, possibly an infection. It's practically impossible to clean them thoroughly enough to be able to avoid having them pulled.

Two of them were impacted causing me jaw, head, and ear aches. Took all 4 out and the pain went with it. Best thing I ever did, or actually, my oral surgeon did. =)
