Why is it that the good people always have to go? There are murderers, rapists, pedophiles, etc. out there, yet the ones that truly deserve to live a long time usually don't. What a great world we live in, huh? And please don't give me any of that crap about how it was their time to go and they went to be with God. Just admit that we live in a pretty crappy world.

We do live in crappy world; I won't argue with you. But have you really thought about why the world is so crappy? I didn't understand for a long time, not until I became a Christian. That's when I learned that man's fall affected the earth. The world is tainted by sin, just like mankind. It's why the Lord plans to destroy it and create a new earth.

Please keep this verse from the Bible in mind.

"For I know the plans I have for you, " says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."

The Lord's plans are for good; they are not always easy to understand but they are for good, even when they hurt. Please know I feel a lot of compassion for you in your loss. You are in my prayers.

I agree wholly with Moon-unit. Life is not programmed, fate has no basis in reality. We all live and die largely by two principles;
1) We are the product of our decisions and our actions. As far as longevity, wandering out in the middle of a busy intersection and being struck by a bus is the product of several decisions, whether conscious or sub-conscious.
2) Life is largely random. Sometimes the decisions of others impacts our lives as there are things that happen in the universe that require no conscious thought at all. The people effected by this are usually not done so by name, but more of the accident of geography, proximity, or pure chance.

My Grandmother told me when I was just old enough to question such things that, only the good die young, and that she was destined to be around for a long time. Who is good and who is not good, often is a matter of perspective.

Everyone is dying, the bad and the good. It's just that when the good ones pass away we have a feeling of injustice. But the world is unfair when it comes to wars or crimes. It is then that innocent people die while the bastards responsible for it are enjoying their wealthy lives behind their offices from where they give orders or the ones who get out of prison after some years. When it comes to natural deaths or to those caused by accidents it is not unfair, it's just the power that no-one can deny, Death. He doesn't have preferences.

Well I wondered this when my 27 year old brother was killed while at work... he was a hard working guy with a 4 year old son and a daughter on the way... A Really great guy... But i have to tell you the truth.... his works were finished.... His job for god was completed.... Just as everyone's will be.... And for those who do not lead such a well rounded life, God Loves them enough to give them an opportunity to come to him and change their lives.... And be a living testimony for God's glory.... i know it isn't what you want to hear, but it is the TRUTH

It's not necessarily a crappy world. Just indifferent.

And I beg to differ :) I have known many good people who managed to live long and (mostly) happy lives. Besides, imo there are some things worse than death. Those people that are "bad" have to endure a lifetime with themselves. They are not *truly* living. And they too will die someday.

It's just.. life. It's not meant to be happy, or sad, or crappy.. it just is what it is.

dude, everyone already knows we live in a crappy world. so what's your point? everyone dies sometime. people who live good lives actually generally live longer than those who don't; the tragic stories of the kind people dying, however, reach our ears much more commonly than they rapist dying or the murder getting hit by a car or something. just keep your chin up and be like those good people.

why it is, indeed. the world is great i agree. but the atrocities you mentioned are because nothing is perfect. and nothing should be. i see the perfection in imperfection. but if you observe nature you see that everything runs on cycles (seasons) that balance everything out. we are no different. our society is way out of balance and people are numb towards it all. Congrats for noticing. the real question is....what can you do to counter balance it?

Oh no it's a lot more simple then that. God is giving the bad people more time to change their ways. He doesn't want His children to go to Hell.
