Reality can be explained
To explain there are thousands of words
Facts can be established
To establish there are thousands of quotes
But how can I explain the "sweet"?
Thousands of different sweets are there.

Wow CD, this question really stopped me...
I had to sit and contemplate for a while on this one to really grasp the words to describe an answer. And, when I stopped to think about it, I realized that the answer is neither.
My answer is that the truth is in the contemplation of the words. Not even so much the meaning of the words; but rather, an individual's personal contemplation of any words at hand.
When we look at words, we see the simplistic constructs of language, each with their definitions and meanings. When those words are strung together they form sentances which give them deeper meanings. And then, they can be formed into parables, and stories, and so on...
Yet, the truth does not lie in these surface definitions or meanings of the words. The truth lies in an individuals own personal contemplation of any given words in front of him.
When it comes to the search for the Truth, what one must come to terms with is the fact that they can argue over words, their beliefs, scriptures, dogma, etc. till they take their last breath, yet the only way one will ever know for sure is to prove it within their own lives! Turning the words within themselves.
Thus, the truth is within the contemplation turned inward.

if it's personal truth i.e what feels personally right for you then the word would be in the truth, as in come from truth. If its the truth in words, you have to trust whats written, which anyone can differ in opinion, more up for scrutiny so to speak. Personal truth is more honest and real so I would say that the words are in truth. I hope that makes sense.
To make (as in type like you just have) that statement, your mind cannot have been empty from words. that would be the truth. In that case the words can only be in truth and not the other was round as the written words did not speak the truth.

I believe the key here is in the word truth.
However, just because someone says something is the truth, doesnt mean its the truth.
There are many who tells us for an example "this" is the "Gospel" truth.
But, then after researching their "words" we can find in some of them that its not the "truth."
So to me it would depend on who is speaking?

Any attempt to formulate truth in human words will inevitably end up in distorting the truth.
Human language alone can not capture truth, although some do a better attempt than others!

Words are tools used by consciousness to work the meaning of truth, simply I say "the mind is bright like the sun" a truth only to those who know. So it is not in the words but in the wisdom of the meaning that the words convey. Sunman used words and explained this to me.
See Sunman's answer... :-)

Yes your mind has no better question to think of at this time but remember truth is beauty and beauty is truth not the word only.

When you go to a dictionary to look up the meaning of a word, you will not find the word you're looking up within the definition itself. (Try looking up the word, 'word' and see what I mean.) The definitions are 'in' the words you're researching, but those words will not be found within the 'wording' of the definitions. The definitions are the greater meanings CONVEYED by the words. Do you follow me? The truth is in the words, but words are not in the truth. The meaning is in the symbols, but symbols are not in the meaning. ..."In the beginning was the word..."
