beliefs- programmed mental constructions
fairly easy to create, very difficult to change once they are in place
truth-can change depending upon the angle which you look at it, although getting people to do this is very difficult
Truth- the all of everything, the Am~not Am, it simply is...
beyond, but including belief and truth

Interesting question. I think that without faith and trust that belief in the truth would be very challenging to come about.
But...in keeping in line with the specific question of you asking for a person to choose one or the other . . . truth or belief . . . I'd say that belief would be more " difficult ". Reason being that truth can often be seen , yet, belief (faith) can not always be seen. Many seem to require a visual before they believe.

Truth is more difficult. It is easy to live behind a 2000 year old myth and be 'certain' where as the truth can be very confronting and even painful. Facts like:
We are not some spacial bunch of beings put here for a supernatural game of moral consequences.
We are not going to live forever in some mythical Disney world.
We are responsible for ourselves
The answers to all our questions are not written in some old book.

Both. If you have beliefs and the truth is to the contrary, then that makes things difficult.

facing up to the truth is more difficult as it can shatter beliefs, especially ones based on very shaky foundations such as a man in white with a beard living in the sky waiting thousands of years to punish or reward us for our actions on the planet.
great story, and good PR, as so many are certain its true and have walked away from the old truths and ways.

Neither is more difficult than the other or easier than the other. You hide the truth so you don't hurt one's feelings, but hide your beliefs so your feelings don't get hurt. It all depends on how big a person you are and how comfortable you are with yourself.

Truth, of course!
Beliefs come from beliefs systems and they are made by people, thus imperfect.
Truth is alone, is hard, often painful.
Our cunning human nature would do anything to
to escape that pain.
Beliefs are learned mind patterns, easily adopted and easily discarded.
Truth alone is.
Truth is God.
And if you follow God you will have to follow Truth,
and It will take you...
beyond belief!..

It is always more difficult for one to believe & accept the truth.
Hopes & dreams are pleasant to have & can come true, unless they are unrealistic.
Human beings will go to all lengths to escape fom the truth,if it interferes with the good feeling they have wrapped themselves in.This is why many do not believe in God.
They do not want to accept that they are living against His will & that there is a place you will be punished if you do not obey Him.
"I didn't know!" will not be an excuse, when we stand before God. Christians everywhere have offered up the truth to sinners.

Truth (like dreams) evolve as awareness grows. Beliefs tend to turn into dogma (I think because they are more locked into place with emotion). Because of that, it is easier for us to come to a new understanding of truth than to change a belief, especially about ourselves.

I say truh is more difficult. It's something you can't change, only face or accept.
Belief is nothing more than knowing or wanting something to be true. You can control your beliefs - you stop or start believing whenever you decide to.
