my 4 mos old yorkie loves her puppy treat (Kong) and each time i give her, her kong treats she always wags her tail around and runs around the house to look for a place to hide her treats. She would hide it in the most funniest place, under the blanket, in tight corners of the house and she always goes around later to look for it. Most time she will forget where she had put it, and sometimes she would lick the area where she is hiding it. It is cute to see her do that all the time but why does she hide them and why only her treats???

It's a normal instinct for an animal to hide food it's not going to eat right now.

When they have more than they can eat they want to hide it for later. They must be afraid another dog will steal it I think. My little Yorkie did that and the Westie I had before that I once found a hot dog under my pillow.
I guess even when they are the only dog in the house they must remember when they were in the litter that another pup ate its food. They will bury bones in your houseplants and under your bed or sofa and chair. They can be quite funny with treats sometimes moving it 10 times and never being satisfied it's safe until they get exhausted, and fall asleep with it under their head. I love dogs. Aren't they adorable?????
You are just the maid so be sure to clean up all that food so it doesn't stink your house up. Good Luck

Maybe he thinks you look shiftee!!!

...Just kidding ;) It's just instinct. In the wild, their ancestors hid food to keep others from finding it. Food is a lot harder to come by in the wild. Now the only things they have to hide are those silly looking toys & treats. I know it looks ridiculous when it's just a Kong, but it really used to be about survival.

Yes, she hides things because that is what wild dogs do. They eat till they are full and then hide some for later. After all, your Yorkie is just a genetically modified wolf!

lol. A Yorkie named "Kong". How cute! They hide their goodies so no one else will find them. Same reason we hide things.

Instincts. They will hide their most precious things so other dogs (etc) won't find them when they aren't playing/eating them.

I'm both happy and sad that I've never woke up covered in dirt!

it's food...all animals hide food, it's instinct to hide ones food for later, just in case you can't find anything to eat...to keep it away from someone/something that might steal it.

Instinct - from when dogs were wild and had to hide their food from other dogs/wolves
