In this day and time, are there more street-smarts or book-smart people?

If my managers hired people who could answer the question, "Who wrote the national anthemn?", they'd have to shut down.

I'd say there are more book smart people as there are more opportunities for education than ever before. However, I think that the level of education has declined and that people are reading less than ever before. I think we've gotten less intelligent over the years, and popular culture has made the average person not care about becoming learned.
I also think street-smarts count for less than before - social skills are still important, but it's much tougher to be disadvantaged because you don't know how things work - you can always google anything and find an answer.
