Why was there a war in heaven? Who would want to leave God and Paradise and go it alone? Why would they choose that?

Does God know the future? Does he know what decisions he will make? Does he know where your soul is going to end up? He is omnipotent, so you would think he knows these things... but what about free will?

And why doesn't God just reveal Himself completely to us? Why do we have to come to Him and find faith and love Him objectively on some big journey? Why did God create us in this manner? Why did he not just create more angels who live right there with him?

Why is there so much confusion in the world? Why is there so much suffering? Why do bad people seem to get rich and lead such happy and prosperous lives?

Why?

Thanks.

PS - I ask these questions with a bit of an 'in your face' attitude. But I do ask all of these questions very sincerely nonetheless. I am a Christian, who, like my many brothers and sisters struggles from time to time.

Unlike some here Hey it is ok one who has not doubted does not ,in the end truly believe.About the future The idea of future is a human concept God is outside of time so therefore now and future and past are coexistent. If God just went "Here I am" what would be the point of faith be.He also gives many clues to His existence. Because we have free will we can choose to love Him where as those who do not can not. Much of the confusion and trouble on this earth is caused by us. We are also His hands here to help correct it ( On earth as it is in Heaven) I hope some of this helps.

Why was there a war in heaven? Because Lucifer wanted to take God's place. Who would want to leave God and Paradise and go it alone? Ask every person on earth who does not believe God's word. Ask every person who has rejected Jesus as Savior. I see that I am a sinner and know that I need a Savior to get to be in that perfect paradise when I leave this earth. Why would they choose that? see previous answer.

Does God know the future? Yes. Does he know what decisions he will make? Yes. He does not change. Does he know where your soul is going to end up? Yes. He is omnipotent, so you would think he knows these things... but what about free will? He still knows what your free will response will be. Can't be omniscient and not know.

And why doesn't God just reveal Himself completely to us? He did in the garden but after sin moved in, our bodies somehow changed (our spirits died and hence we must be spiritually born again) and we can no longer see God in His glory and live to tell about it. Why do we have to come to Him and find faith and love Him objectively on some big journey? God is the creator and this position comes with certain rights. He gets to decide how we can be able to come to Him. In His grace He made a way. He didn't have to do that. He could have nuked the whole place and started over but He didn't. Why did God create us in this manner? Ask Him when you get there. But when you see heaven and look into the face of God I don't think any of your question will matter one bit. There will be no doubts, no sadness, no why, just complete awe and wonder at the glory, love and mercy of your creator and protector. Why did he not just create more angels who live right there with him? Again you can ask when you get there. Probably just personal creativeness (is that a word, I hope so).

Why is there so much confusion in the world? Sin entered and brought confusion along with it. Why is there so much suffering? Sin entered and brought suffering with it. Why do bad people seem to get rich and lead such happy and prosperous lives? You are only seeing a small portion of their lives. Get to know these happy, rich people you are speaking of and you will quickly see that money does not bring happiness or prosperity, just more responsibility and more covetousness. You can never have enough and the more you have (without Christ) the more you will want.

Why?
All your whys can be answered in one perfect act on a cross outside Jerusalem about 2000 years ago. An outpouring of love that I cannot fathom or pretend to completely understand. I certainly would not have chosen to send salvation the same way; but God did. Why? I don't know except to speculate that He felt He could demonstrate the most love possible by doing it just this way.

Why was there a war in heaven?
there was not a WAR, but a REBELLION, read the Book of Enoch if not the bible. Anyone who says otherwise is a parrot, repeating what they have been told.
Who would want to leave God and Paradise and go it alone?
no one, but we (humans) did not leave, we were kicked out. And... we did not go it alone, Eve was with Adam.

Does God know the future?
you think God operates in the same manner we do, but I must say you are missing it. God is time, future, past, present. think about it and you may understand. God does not read time, he is. With that in mind, realize there is no such thing of something like this for him. Humans coined time, not God.
Does he know what decisions he will make?
Hmmm, again you are asking something beyond human knowledge. Better find out or ask spiritual things, though I would ask God.
Does he know where your soul is going to end up?
Yes, but then again, so does everyone if they think of how they feel about things. If one does not want God, then they will not recieve anything of him. If they do, then...
He is omnipotent, so you would think he knows these things... but what about free will?
Free will, it is much like that of a child and parents. A parent (GOD) knows how we are going to behave, because they have done it all before if not do it. Yet, the child has free will. After you have a child you will see. Remember this though, as humans and parents, we forget and become proficient in certain things. So, a developmental psychologist is going to know more than some parent, yet someone who has observed humans a lot, will know some things different than the D. P. so...

And why doesn't God just reveal Himself completely to us?
He did, read the bible again. What you have to realize is, people quit going to him and asked him to leave. He is willing to please.
Why do we have to come to Him and find faith and love Him objectively on some big journey?
You know, that is a good question. Who told you have to go on some big journey? Only people who feel they had to, do so, and feel they found God only then, did not realize that they could do it where they were, if they had self-control. By getting away from the things we feel we have no power over, we find freedom and in freedom confidence. So, you do not have to go on some big journey, just take control of the things around you to create the environment you need to find God.
Also, you never have faith, until you accept the truth. And you cannot love god, but you can try!
Why did God create us in this manner?
Again you ask something no one can answer, only speculate or think they know.
Why did he not just create more angels who live right there with him?
He did, but he wanted something to be free. Anyone can relate to this who has robots. We all want them, get them, and they do all they want and we to them, but after a while, we want something more interactive. Though I am speculating, it makes some sense.
Why is there so much confusion in the world?
Who said there was? Maybe it is just right for a World, but our perception is wrong. Jesus said there would be peace, wars, etc. If you want nothing but peace or war, then you are thinking in two different dimensions, you are assuming there is two seperate things, but really, they are the same. Just like how every adult is also a child, so is wisdom and insight to every person.
Why is there so much suffering?
Because there is so many people. Less people less suffereing, easier to fix. more people, more suffering, harder to fix. Makes you wish more people cared.
Why do bad people seem to get rich and lead such happy and prosperous lives?
Why do you think it is this way? I know several people who are good. I guess you are looking through some moralistic lense. I guess you have to figure out what is Bad and Good, not from what others say and not by printed words in the bible, but the intentions behind Jesus' teachings and the commandments.

1) To someone who had not found the joys of heaven how could they enjoy being there. Satan was not a good person, he had too much jealousy. He caould not see paradise for what it was so he left.
2) God knows every move we make, he knows the future. We all make our own decisions with free will, but God knows what theese will be. He does not alter them ,we still choose our lives but he knows how we will alter them.
3) God used to be closer with humans but humans chose to break this. How we would we be able to have free will to choose to follow God if he was in our face. If God was able to be seen then it wouldn't be faith would it? How could we appreciate something we had never been without.
4) I believe that suffering is a terrible thing, but then again how can we be good without bad. How can we be generous if there is no poor, how can we be brave if there is nothing to fear.

I like you am a christian who does struggle form time to time, I cannot obviously fully answer your questions because I do not know for sure. However I will continue to search and be interested in your answers. Good question though :)

Ok, one at a time...
Lucifer may not have wanted to leave heaven, he wanted control of it. That started "the war" you mention. God won... Lucifer left.
Yes God knows the future, he knows all of our decisions, he knows where we will end up. He is omniscient and omnipotent. There is free will, but he still knows what we will choose and not choose.
If God revealed himself completely to us, we wouldn't need faith, and faith pleases God. God created us as opposed to more angels, so we would have free will and could fellowship with him by choice. The angels don't have that choice.
There is so much confusion, suffering and unjustice in the world, because satan is in control of it right now. But just you wait! When Jesus comes back and takes over everything's gonna be different! Wait and see!

War in heaven is a new piece of information to me. Nobody in heaven decided to leave God or heaven. It was their deed, arrogance or disobedience, which caused them to descend from heaven to this planet for purification so that they can again go back to their abode. But Satan decided to keep on revolting against God's given way of purification.

God knows everything. But it does not mean that the final decisions those He will be making on us on the day of judgement have already been made. The decision making process is like a decision tree, which has many nodes with ‘If’s’, ‘Yes’s’, ‘No’s’ and so on. He knows what will happen at the end of each node we follow. But on every ‘If’ or on ‘Yes’ or on ‘No’, we have our free-will to exercise. Consequence we cannot control 100%. Statistically speaking for example even we know if 9 out 10 times something happen there is a 90% chance that that event will happen again. God has all models, tools and information for decision making. Thus He knows future in certainty.

God is not like us with flesh and blood. For example, Moses (peace be upon him) wanted to see God once. God, the Creator, only revealed to Moses a glimpse of Light. By that Moses got fainted. If God, the Creator, Himself reveal before us in our atmosphere, everything will turn into ashes. He is omnipotent means that He can do anything He wants if He were there. If God reveals Himself now that will be end of this world. That is why He will reveal Himself on the day of Judgement.

Besides Satan did see God in heaven but it did not help Satan not being Satanic. That is why surrendering to God by not directly seeing Him and by only feeling His presence or existence from the knowledge of His creation is the right form of ‘Iman’ or faith. God creates whatever He pleases. He creates in many forms so that we think and learn.

Confusions in the world are tests. Our job is to remove the confusions and sufferings. This is how will be successful in the after world. If sufferings were not here, this place would be heaven. But this is not heaven. Both good people and the bad people can get rich. The difference is that Good people will have a successful after-world but bad people’s riches will be their burden in the after-world. God, the Creator, gives anyone who rightly seeks. The manner one seeks is important. So is the purpose.

There wasn’t a war in Heaven; it’s just the high-proudly heart of evil-Lucifer – which feel that he’s as high as the Lord God. So the Lord God got him and his followers out from Heaven.

God knew the future very clear. He knew all His decisions. He knew where our soul going to (because He created our souls). God gave us free will because He didn’t want us to be His robots, but His true worshipper.

God had revealed Himself completely to the Israel; remember the story of Abraham, Moses and all other prophets? But what’s the results? Human still human. They still ignore Him. Over and over again. So we must graduate from ‘His school’ in this world before live right there with Him.

Sufferings and confusions were made from evil - which will only make us closer to God than Richness or happiness, as long as God is really your place to share, to cry, and to tell about everything.

Just keep your faith in Him till end! Jesus bless u.

.Answer # 1 The prideful were kicked out. You can't have a Godly paradise with prideful beings in it. After all, look at the world!
Answer # 2 & 3 Pride puts man in a go it alone mode. The choices we make, manifests itself in the wisdom we think we have, which is foolishness in the sight of God. One big part of Godly wisdom is knowing that going it alone is fatal.
Answer # 4 There would be no reason for the book of revelations, if he didn't.
Answer # 5 All pertinent decisions regarding God's interaction with man are currently in the scriptures. Since God is the alpha and the omega, his decisions are always known.
Answer # 6 & 7 & 8 He most know something, and if we look deep inside ourselves, we must know something. We are either sure that we are saved, or not. It is written that God knows his faithful servants and that includes any frame of time past and present. Free will is preserved because it is meaningful to a holy God.
Answer 9 & 10 &11 & 12 Revealing himself completely has a lot to do with how well we know him. After the resurrection, Jesus visited the apostles and still they did not recognize him immediately. Jesus had to jog their memory of prophesy. We are too finite when it comes to seeing the big picture as God sees it. As for faith, If faith without works is dead than works without faith is also dead. Instead of loving God objectively, love him with all your heart, mind and strength. We were created to fellowship with him on a journey to be used of him in ways we could never imagine. Is there any reason to believe that the same God that put the heavens in place can not manage a plan for our lives? Even the angels do not know all of God's plans as it pertains to man and that is in the bible too.
Answer # 13 & 14 &15 Man is the architect of confusion. God allows suffering even for Christians. Jesus said expect it and blessed are you who endure it for my name's sake. We are all bad people born into sin. Trust me, it doesn't matter how wealthy or happy one thinks they are, when the world with all its luster can not fill a spiritual hole in ones life.

Linz, this answer is mostly for you since you got a lot of responses I'm sure no one else will read this, but I did read their responses before posting this. The truth is for christians to even consider "not believing" is an obvious sign of weakness and loss of faith. They are not to question their teachings no matter how crazy and ridiculous they are. You could have a mountain of evidence to show that their belief system is so flawed...heck the bible is a great place to start! It would not matter to them, some people just don't have the initiative to investigate the facts. I'm sure you've heard, "You can't handle the truth!" before, well that about sums it all up. They would rather believe in that warm fuzzy feeling they get from belonging to something bigger than themselves where they don't have to think about the real world. I bet if these American jesus lovers were born and raised in the far east they all would believe in Buddha. Funny how no matter what way you slice it, us atheist would be the same everywhere.

There was a war in Heaven between God and Lucifer. Lucifer was an archangel but, wanted to be God. God doesn't allow sin in Heaven so...... Lucifer and 1/3 of the angels who followed him, had to go. http://www.angelfire.com/mi/dinosaurs/lucifer.html

God knows everything but, that has nothing to do with free will. You make your own decisions but, God knows what you will decide.

God has revealed Himself in the flesh. He came down from Heaven in the form of the man Jesus. As a Christian, the better relationship you have with Jesus, the more you will know God.

Angels are messengers. We are God's adopted children (if we are Christians). He wanted children.

There is so much confusion in the world because people (Adam and Eve) disobeyed God and brought sin, death, rebellion and disobedience here. This causes us unhappiness. Bad people get rich because of selfishness and the love of money rather than God. They are not as happy as you think.
